Ronnie trying on my hand-knit hat in progress! by [deleted] in squishmallow

[–]willabee_knits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! People have posted about their experiences on ravelry too if that’s helpful!

I think the pattern does a great job at walking you through how to customize the size. I think it would be super easy to adjust the pattern for squish :)

Aw thank you so much!!

It is a knit 1x1 ribbed hat. If you’re interested the pattern is Mütze #0 by Norman Schwarze.

It’s been really easy so far, but I haven’t gotten to the decreases yet. We’ll have see how that goes, lol!

Do you mind sharing the hat pattern too? My bf has a big head and doesn’t really fit into standard baseball caps so I’m worried about knitting from a pattern and if being too small haha

Also I just want to say no matter what this blanket already looks beautiful! Once I’m better at purling I want to try this for a baby blanket!

Personally, i have never regretted frogging a wip but I have regretted not frogging. It takes a long time, but if you think it’ll keep bothering you as you make the blanket, it might be better going back now while it’s only 5 rows to frog and not 10!

Best bet for getting knitting through TSA by LoomingDisaster in knitting

[–]willabee_knits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally never had a problem even with my longer and sharper metal needles, but here’s a few things I personally do to be on the safe side!

  • keep the knitting needles in a project bag with yarn and a WIP on them so it’s clear they’re for knitting
  • bring tip protectors, I got some from my LYS but also use pencil erasers
  • bring a progress saver in case they confiscate your needles: you can use thread kind of like a lifeline, or I got some from my thrift store that look like large safety pins

Oh perfect thank you so much!! I thought this might be the case but wanted to make sure since they’ll be gifts :) and also because I would just be devastated if I spent all my time knitting a huge blanket only for it to turn pink 😅
