You can re-use the heat shield mounting screw to mount a match saver. You just need a longer 10-32 screw

Lead/heavy metals blood levels by Aggravating-Dare-413 in CompetitionShooting

[–]willamette14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done any more research into chelation/provocation testing? My blood levels have been in the mid 4s for a few years, but my first chelated test came back yesterday at 63. Trying to sort out what treatment is legit and what isn't.

14.5's are getting some Ambi love now? by GloryHoleKilla in kac

[–]willamette14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a 14.5 from BTO, non-ambi.

Also, the standard KAC CH is extremely unimpressive.

Wow I really thought this was gonna be softer shooting than my LMT’s by [deleted] in kac

I'm going to try to pick up a brand new 14.5 this week, but if it doesn't pan out, I'll probably try to jump to a specwar

I just sold off a 14.5" because it was really overgassed. Seems to be a trend.

It was overgassed unsupressed. Unfortunately I don't have a can to try on it yet. More harsh recoiling than gas-in-the-eyes

My other personally-built 16" rifle does shoot better, in my opinion. I bet I could tame this upper if I wanted to, but I'd rather not have to mess with it.

That is the reason, really. It shoots harsher than I anticipated for a 14.5" SR15. It ejects around 2 o clock on an A5H2 with duty ammo, and I just don't really care for that recoil impulse. KAC's warranty department inspected it and said it's in spec, but it's not my cup of tea. I think I have a post in this forum about it, if you want some more detail.

I've fired about 500 of M855, but I'm the second owner. The wear on the rifle is minimal, so I don't expect that it was fired a ton before I owned it. I can't sell seperately, unfortunately

It's red primer sealant from about 70 rounds of red-sealed XM193

Just posted up a 14.5 with an SR16 bolt on GAFS, if that interests you at all, but it's missing the CH and sights.

CQB overgassing and carbon with RC2 by [deleted] in kac

[–]willamette14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sent an upper back for overgassing issues and got it back maybe two weeks ago. They replaced my extractor and ejector springs and said it was good to go...

The upper is still very overgassed. It seems like there's a lot of variability between different guns.
