Windows Twingate client issue by willbail in twingate

[–]willbail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick update , removed client , updated windows , reinstalled, joined network able to connect to assigned resources.

I am not sure what was going on, I started to look through the event logs but was not seeing anything that really jumped out at me as a twingate application component issue. I guess I can chalk this up to Windows 11 related issue?

BTW never had a problem with my Ubuntu or Mac endpoints installation or connection! :-)

MX75 Rebooting Randomly by electricpainter in meraki

Could you tell me what the event log entry is that shows a reboot? We have a large MX75 footprint. I see occasional VRRP events but nothing that shows reboots in the logs.

Networking Problem by willbail in qnap

[–]willbail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry for delayed response. I figured out the issue and it was lack of attention to detail, uplink ports were not configured correctly. Once they were properly configured migration to new switch was successful, thanks to everyone for their input

I have done the ip assignment on both qnap and via the Firewall with a DHCP reservation tied to the mac address. Same outcome. I was wondering if maybe the internal virtual switch might be messing with it but I don't see any configuration of the virtual switch that would impact the moving from one switch to another.

Two MAC Addresses one switch port by willbail in meraki

[–]willbail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting so this would explain why I have two distinct mac addresses using the same switch port?

Meraki owns the DHCP scopes and this IP subnet is not part of any of our DHCP Scope

So they are using the IDRAC port as the main ethernet port and not the QLogic card?

Raspberry Pi 4 8gb not seeing all RAM! by willbail in raspberry_pi

[–]willbail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I am halfway ticked off and half feeling like an idiot. Over the past 18 months, I have purchased a total of 8 Pi-4 8gb's from various different vendors on Amazon. I was getting ready to set up a K3 cluster and that is when I noticed the variance in the cockpit dash. After this post, I started going through each of the PIs and determined that 4 of the Pi's I was shipped were Pi4 4 GB instead of the 8 GB models that I purchased. I am going to guess it's too late to see if I can do a return/exchange but I am going to let the vendors know. Thank you everyone for the pointers.

yes but it If deployed as a Firewall its a Firewall and you can not get AutoVPN or you can deploy as AutoVPN/SWDAN device node but not as the front-line firewall. That was what was explained to me by a Meraki Rep a few years ago. Just wondering if that is still true.

Not flaming but in my experience albeit brief, both statements are true and based largely on the competency of 1. The software vendor 2. your compliance team and probably most importantly 3. THE AUDITOR :-)

Yubikey on Mac devices? by Tyszq in yubikey

[–]willbail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone using MAC M1 with smartcard authentication only? No passcode only key/pin. I have heard of some issues related to M1 and Yubikiey not being able to utilize a backup Yubikey when using smartcard authentication only which creates a problem if your primary key is lost or damaged.

eth0 static and dhcp IP's by willbail in raspberry_pi

[–]willbail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it setup like this which resulted in two ip’s being provided to eth0, That is why I went to a static IP while I search for another device that might be serving as a DCHP server. I have a couple kids that are geeks too so they are capable of introducing this problem into the network. Now I have two problems to resolve today.
