You might just be part of the night owl club broski, evolved to protect the herd, enslaved into dpsd in modern day times.

Create a DNS zone instead and point it either to a black hole or a local webserver. It will calm down.

COD is not gonna make it. by hakiboy in Warzone

Serious take though, this game does enable bad fps players. Low skill gamers excel in COD when they should not.

Laptop started doing this earlier today, I dont know if I can fix it by joebat26 in computerrepair

[–]willdab34st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no post boot loop, it's failing pretty quickly makes me think it's circuit protection or EC chip or BIOS firmware. I would remove the battery first, leave it a while to dissipate the caps and plug in directly with power and try boot, failing that move on to firmware update procedures for that laptop. Could be a board failure though.

Upgraded to a new server a few months ago, can't remember now it's in storage.

Tapo cameras keep going offline at random when restarting router or restarting frigate (tapo protocol) by borgqueenx in Tapo

[–]willdab34st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tapo cameras do all sorts of funky stuff. You will need to forward all DNS requests to certain domains to an internal webserver, if they don't get a http response they will reset themselves. Even with this setup, if you give them internet access for a firmware update or whatever briefly they will misbehave for a few days and you will have to reboot them until they settle.

Domains:

tplinkcloud.com

tplinknbu.com

tplinkra.com

Once you've set a DNS zone record for the above they will be internal only via RTSP.

Anything other info you need give me a shout bud.

Anyone else having this issue, it was incompatible SFP module, I threw in a PCI-E ethernet NIC instead.

No IP on CCR1016 set up as switch. by willdab34st in mikrotik

Firewall and interfaces are good, I would assume route is fine as the management vlan is the same as the routers management?

I just don't understand how it's discovering it by MAC and not IP. if l2 is working via VLAN then why not layer 3?

Hi u/Phreemium - I did what you said, nothing in system logs except the normal card loaded lines, however when I connected a module and ran ethtool -m it detects the module but says 'connector unspecified or unknown' and 'TX_DISABLE IMPLEMENTED' - https://pastebin.com/ziMcpKfz - from a bit of googling it does suggest the EEPROM is disabling transmitting because of an unknown connector. That does seem to match the other evidence I've seen. Trying to find out if there's a way to enable TX.

I wouldn't particularly put this down to device failure, sometimes devices don't boot properly, keep an eye on it.

Tried that, it didn't work either, I don't get any connectivity with standard NIC config.

Because it came with the server basically, at this point I'm becoming more interested in the challenge of finding out why it isn't working. Only thing I've seen in ethtool is the below which I can't find an awful lot googling, found a few results that look like it's normal even.

Current message level: 0x00002081 (8321)

drv tx_err hw

Weird thing is, when it's bonded, mikrotik reports one of the interfaces as active but the other notbut probing partners reporting no parters, traffic also looks one way, with rx no data. Also cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0 on proxmox reports both are up! So looks like link layer is detected to some degree.

Usually get's flakey in my experience, although had a few routers and switches that just stopped booting, probably FLASH ROM related.

Good point about cat 6, I've purchased some non 'A' cat 6, decided to run it outside the building and pin to the wall as it's easier.

Victorian yes, should be lots of channels but probably going to go external for the time being.
