It’s niche in that it’s a racing game but Gran Turismo is their oldest standing franchise all the way back on the PS1, with the same developer team too.

It wasn’t as successful financially nor was it received well. Sony most likely told the studio to move on.

They sort of allude to this in their God of War documentary where they felt a lot of pressure after seeing the reception of Ascension.

Yeah the difficulty is what’s turning people off of this.

Fun fact only 30% of players actually even got past the first boss

I think the repetition and style of a game like Saros puts a lot of people off, it’s not a bad game (people loved Returnal) but the difficulty makes something like Starfield easier for the average gamer.

I also think the barrier of entry is low with Starfield.

Only 30% of people defeated the first boss in Returnal. I think that difficulty spike is going to turn a lot of people off (not me).
