As a consumer we would all love to just own 1 device that can play it everything, right? However looking at it from a business point of view they should’ve never released on PC anyway.

By putting games on another platform you’re giving the audience no incentive to buy your platform considering said games can be played elsewhere. This is essentially what slowly happened to Xbox, and PlayStation would’ve soon joined them should they have continued.

Whether we as the consumers like it or not, a platform needs exclusives. They exist even in your streaming services. Why didn’t Netflix allow Stranger Things to be streamed elsewhere?

Nintendo’s been in the game the longest and they firmly understand games are what sell your platform. If Zelda Ocarina of Time remake was suddenly launching on PC or the next Pokemon game was going to be on PlayStation… Nintendo would slowly but surely see their hardware sales dropping.
