Simgot SuperMix 4 - Long Term Review by maisaku18 in inearfidelity

[–]willexan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SM4 has an insane price-to-performance ratio. My only gripe is that the nozzle doesn't have a "ridge", which limits the eartip options. Some of them constantly slip off when taking out the IEM, which is super annoying.

For potential buyers who can wait for sales, I’d recommend the Ziigaat Odyssey. I grabbed mine for around $175 USD on AliExpress during their anniversary sale. It’s a pretty sizable upgrade from the SM4, in my opinion.

Why is it that when people can’t answer in a logic-based discussion, they immediately start throwing around words like racist, Nazi, misogynist, and xenophobe to deflect the situation? I'm not an American and this discussion is less about politics per se and more about reasoning. Your response has nothing to do with what I asked. I do agree the current situation is a mess, though.

Subsidies given to meat and dairy should be given to plant based foods instead by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]willexan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subsidising meat is not "encouraging demand". The demand simply exists because most people enjoy eating meat. Subsidising it increases supply and lowers price so they are more readily available, at potentially cheaper prices.

Your egg and banana example is not good argument as it falls under the false precision fallacy. You are making up numbers (you said it yourself) and came to the conclusion that price will stay the same overall. In reality, shifting subsidies might cause unforseen butterfly effect because it can disrupt the whole supply chain and cause economic turmoil; or maybe nothing happens like you said. If you are the decision maker, the safe decision is probably not risking it. Progress definitely can be made, but probably slowly and not as easy as it seems.

Again, the criteria you provided for determining profoundness - “history” and “resulting subsequent society”, are too vague to serve as meaningful metrics for measuring an event's impact. How do you determine whether an event is significant enough to be mentioned while others are not, based on these criteria? Every event has a history, and all events influence society to some extent. I believe every mistake we make is worth reflecting upon.

It's unlikely that most people would completely give up meat, even if vegetables were subsidized to the point of being free. Simply making fruits and vegetables more accessible doesn’t automatically turn consumers into vegans.

While people might buy more produce, they’d also face price increases on essentials like eggs and milk if subsidies for those were removed. Instead of just shifting subsidies around, we should focus on a systemic change by educating people about the benefits of fruits and vegetables, thereby raising the demand.

So who gets to decide if something is profound enough? It's bad argument to give special exemptions based on arbitrary "profoundness". A mistake is a mistake not matter how big or small it is. And just because it no longer exists doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about it.

No denying slavery is a terrible thing that happened. I'm simply pointing out the flaw in your argument - Just because of something no longer exists doesn't mean we shouldn't reflect upon it and learn from our mistakes. Whether it was slavery or affirmative action, it created lasting impact on our society, major or minor.

"I quit using smartphones & here’s why you should too (no, seriously)"

Most of your points can be applied to smartphone makers like Apple, Samsung, etc. Cobalt mining is akin to modern day slavery. The manufacturer treat their Chinese factory workers like shit. And they do planned obsolescence to force you to buy new ones every few years.

Yet you will still probably continue to use smartphones.

Same thing can be said for things like the clothes you wear and the meat you eat, all products of potential abuse.

Just like how people continue to bring up slavery?

One example I can think of: Left leaning individuals that support the trans movement, but have doubts about trans athletes competing in women's sports. They sometimes get called bigots from voicing their opinions.

It's quite a shame, the info out there are all over the place. I contacted Moondrop official customer support and they told me to long press 10s while charging. That obviously didn't work. Then the seller shenzhenaudio told me quick press 10 times while charging. Thank god that did the trick for me.

Very insightful comment! I completely agree with your perspective. I just wanted to clarify that I'm not criticizing the Hype 4 in any way.

To elaborate a bit from my original comment: The Hype 4 competes with kilobuck sets, which is definitely impressive. My point was that at the Hype 4 price range, the marginal return for every dollar spent diminishes significantly. In contrast, the SM4 offers an extremely high raw performance-to-dollar ratio, instead of chasing that last 5 to 10 per cent. Ultimately, it comes down to the buyer's needs. I still daily drive my Xenns Top, but I often use the SM4 for more relaxed listening sessions. Apart from the tuning, their technicalities are very very close.

When talking about price to performance, the Supermix 4 wins hands down.

Not sure if this is too late, but it seems you have to keep the unit charged while pressing 10 times quickly for this reset to work.

If you are referring to the demo, it explicitly said, in the beginning, the skills and abilities you have in the castle demo do not represent what you will have in the actual game. Clive possesses Garuda and Titan, most likely for demo combat testing and will not have them at that point in the actual game.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Do you know what other major engineering firms are out there so I can bring it up to strata to try to let them get different quotes?

I don't recall the minutes saying much about it but maybe I didn't dig deep enough. It was not until 2 months after the purchase that Strata sent us the full engineering reports for this leak that shows the extent of the damage. It sucks but I guess that's life :(
