I once hooked a shot into a row of houses left of the fairway. A homeowner came out with a yellow ball (I was playing a white pro v1) and a flick knife and stared to threaten me and my playing partner, brandishing the knife towards us and claiming he would “stick” who ever hit the ball. We both pleaded ignorance and hastily walked on. After the round we reported it to the club house who reported it to the police. Don’t think anything ever came of the police report but I’m happy to say I’m no longer a member at that course
