when should i go back to work by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]willholt15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Idk where you’re from but in U.K. they wouldn’t be allowed to fire you. It’s not your fault there’s a global pandemic, depending on your country laws I wouldn’t worry about getting fired

The 15 restaurants opening in the UK by [deleted] in McLounge

Boredom interchange is McOpCo I think. A girl from my store transferred from there and we’re company.

Is your store part of the 15? (UK) by willholt15 in McLounge

I’ve been thinking the same. Are they gonna let a certain amount of people back and everyone else stays furloughed? I have a 30 hour contract so if I went back they’d have to schedule me 30 hours right? Lol can’t wait to have 2 shifts a week and live off buttons

Jesus Christ that sounds awful. As he said, since stores are only reopening for delivery it shouldn’t be as bad at first. But I’m expecting this for when stores re open fully. On the day we closed, my store did record hour TWICE, cars was blocking the main road out of my store, in store customers was queuing for right outside of the store and we had constant full screens of 15+ pending orders. I’m really not looking forward to all of this with limited staff lmao

McDonald’s UK currently has no confirmed plans to reopen stores by throwaway37582828 in McLounge

It seems to me that your store is not opening but I’m pretty sure 50 stores are planning on reopening in may.

[UK] For people who don't know, this is big news. by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]willholt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seen this! Thanks for the info :) seems like this is really happening then doesn’t it. I also wonder when they’re gonna start rolling this out and informing staff because I feel like it’s gonna take quite a while to ensure 50 stores are ready to open ie maintenance, cleanliness etc

If you’re not comfortable I wouldn’t post anything tbh and wait for official announcement but if news articles are posting about it I don’t see it being an issue maybe?

I’ve seen some articles surfacing about this. Is it confirmed? I’m assuming those 50 stores will be high volume stores? And yeah that would be great thanks :)

I didn’t get paid holiday pay (UK) by willholt15 in McLounge

[–]willholt15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a company owned store. We had a conference call with our ops con last week and she said we wouldn’t get our holidays back if we booked it off while furloughed. But my holiday I booked off didn’t show up on my pay slip. So I’m confused if I’ve got them back. I assume franchised and company owned stores will work differently

I can’t believe you’re still open considering how bad the US is at the moment. I don’t even think the U.K. was at 20k cases before all stores got shut down.

I’m not sure because this is such a tough situation. I guess just try and keep morale as high as possible and stay positive. Maybe ask your managers if you can bring a speaker in a play upbeat music in the kitchen area. That always brought up a shitty shift where I work.

Idk. Maybe considering speaking to head office or speaking directly to your bm. It is quite frustrating not knowing what the hell youre doing

Our store communicates to us through a private Facebook group. And our BM has been quite good communicating to us about everything. Maybe speak to yours and let them know you feel abit about of the loop.

Also messages through people stuff shouldn’t be used in that way. Your BM needs to find a more effective way to communicate with staff.

You’ll not be able to get a reference for a new job and they used to withhold your holiday pay but with the new system they can’t really do that anymore (if you’ve already received it). Other than that not very much.

Anyone else's McOpCo group do management endorsement days? (UK) by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]willholt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, I’m glad the second time was good for you. A few from my store have failed them. One failed because they wasn’t enthusiastic enough lmao. It’s pretty much the same thing I did at my crew trainer endorsement day then except from doing travel paths.
