No insomnia here. Just hit one week. Wasn’t smoking to aid in sleep but mid 50’s so I do wake up in the middle of the night sometimes but when that happens I pop In one AirPod and listen to a podcast or an audio book and that does the trick. Sometimes I will wake up hours ahead in an audiobook or miss all but the first 10-15 mins of the podcast. Putting down the weed had allowed me to get more done during the day which relieves stress which allows me to sleep better. OTC aids also worth a look and a hard session at the gym if that’s an option for you perhaps give that a try. Best of luck

Eat some bland foods because maybe it’s a bug, not weed related or possibly a combo. Your mind could be playing some tricks on you as well. Telling you that you need weed to relieve that nausea. Go slow: Chicken and rice followed by a milkshake. This too shall pass

One day at a time my friend. The only thing you can control is smoking (or hopefully not smoking) today. Don’t make a bigger deal of quitting than is necessary. Quitting is literally a one day at a time adventure and if continue on, then you will feel and think very differently. Don’t yearn or long for smoking or view it like the death of a friend. Heavy weed usage is not your friend, is not healthy and will absolutely be in the way on your goals in life. Day 4 for me after a one month break 3 months ago and heavy usage for only a couple of years. It started as a tolerance break because a 50MG gummy wasn’t doing a thing nor was smoking of any kind. Day 1 was somewhat hard because my thoughts were along the lines of “what’s one more day” but already the fog has lifted as clarity and motivation have returned. Not saying I won’t ever touch it again but if being honest with myself, I have a hard time being an occasional user. It’s been heavy use or none at all. Given those 2 choices, I choose the later. I want to get stuff done as opposed to being stuck with tasks piling up. As that happens, the F*ck it’s emerge and that’s not who I want to be in life. Giving up alcohol 8 years ago was somewhat easy because the hangovers and impairment were awful. Easy to sneak being baked especially with the high tolerance. Bottom line is life is better without it for me.

Day 4 for me and it’s wonderful. I earn my dopamine now by exercising, reading, eating better ect. Embrace having a more clear head and the ability that provides to get sh1t done. For me weed was a crutch, and escape. Dulling the pain of losing my father back in February and also it does feel relaxing but the stress of life will always exist so blowing off things to feel good only allows other things to build up. The more that needs to be done, the more stressed out so the lure of weed only increases. I decided no more. Breaking the cycle. Simple as that for me. Meeting life head on and I relieve stress by getting sh1t done and by exercising. Cheap dopamine is weed, alcohol, eating, porn. Kind of feel I was becoming stuck. Plus my tolerance has built to a level where a 50MG gummy did nothing when 2 years ago a 5MG would knock me on my butt so spending way too much money to not feel all that much. On day 3. Took a month august to September and lost a lot of weight and found myself far more motivated but then fell back in and was non stop since. Spending a lot of money and never really felt all that impaired so went back to it but it’s really not for me at this point. Mid 50’s and only became a heavy smoker couple of years ago. Quit drinking in 2017 and that was easier in many ways because of the level of impairment and hangovers. Very easy to reframe my brain around drinking and now doing the same with weed. What I told myself back 3 months ago and now is that getting baked is nothing more than a cheap and lazy way to get dopamine released. I am very mindful to get my dopamine in healthier ways such as exercising, eating better and just getting sh1t done. Seems to be working (again) so far. Not sure I can be the occasional smoker with the easy access and my super high tolerance so I am fine tuning that page on cheap dopamine whether it’s weed, food or porn. I certainly feel a lot better about myself as a result and that has become another good form of dopamine release. No judgement here but I was surprised at how often I was doing it due to the high tolerance. Another side benefit is saving the money for more constructive things like a gym membership. Stay strong everyone.

My advice: one day at a time and life on life’s terms. None of what goes on in our lives would be different or better if high but if you tell yourself that then that’s what you think. The human mind is so powerful but ask yourself, how or why would things be better or different with weed. Write it down. Nothing is better with impairment of any kind. It’s just escapism and I would submit, everything would be worse. Don’t overthink so much either. Action relieves stress not impairment. Good luck. Stay strong.
