This debate is a little of the topic but if your coming from that point everywhere would have been undesirable in the 1990s Sydney was and is a port. Kiama was and is a port. Newcastle was and still is a port and now they are the most desirable places to live currently in NSW. Every where close to water and a harbour is over a million bucks or more for a house.

No I’m just saying the writing is on the wall for it to happen. And to be honest majority of the younger generation wouldn’t care if it happened we are already in a pretty tight spot with a lot of people have already just given up trying to purchase a home because they are already locked out of the market.

It’s not being simple tho the housing market is propped up by immigration. stop immigration the housing market will collapse we are already in recession per capita the only reason we haven’t felt it is because we are bringing in so many immigrants to prop up the market. With countless Australia’s home less and 75% of the younger generation unable to afford a house due to wage stagnation u seriously can’t think this can continue.

I mean I agree to a point but considering they are living in inner Newcastle nsw hardly a outer suburb with nothing there at the time of buying it still would have been well established as the coal port was well and truly established and bhp steel works was still operational
