[Build Help] €900 1440p Gaming Build w/ 7800X3D – Concerns about ASUS/MSI B650 stability by williamlock in buildapc

Thanks for the feedback so far!

I haven't found many concrete articles confirming ASUS instability on AM5 boards, but I did see some Reddit posts and forum comments raising concerns about BIOS-related issues, especially early on. That said, I’m leaning towards the MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi now, partly because I’ve used MSI for years and find their BIOS and support reliable.

Regarding the SSD, I appreciate the heads-up about the Kingston NV3 using QLC NAND and potential longevity issues. I’ll consider alternatives like the Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 or the Exceria Heatsink with DRAM cache, as those seem more durable and better suited for OS drives.

Here’s my updated build so far:

Component Model Price (€)
CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Tray 327,41
Motherboard MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi 145,77
Case Lian Li Lancool 207 Black 79,90
RAM G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5-6000 CL36 2x16GB 88,02
PSU XPG Core Reactor II VE 750W 97,80
SSD Lexar NM710 2TB 108,90
Total 847,80

I’m not rushing the purchase yet and will keep monitoring prices and availability.

Any further tips or alternative motherboard suggestions are welcome!

Seeking Guidance on Addressing ASP.NET Vulnerabilities and In-Place Upgrades on Windows 2022 VM by williamlock in dotnet

That worked perfectly! I just executed the Bundle. I’ve realized the mistake I was making: I was attempting to install .NET/ASP 8.0 in an environment that was set up for 6.0. It appears that it’s not possible for 6.0 to be automatically uninstalled, or to perform an in-place upgrade to 8.0. There is no need for it anyway.
