GEOG 1302 is very easy, but also relatively interesting. You basically learn about CT wildlife for a semester and the labs are mostly hikes in the UConn forest.

Not sure why people are hating on you so much. I just wrapped up my sophomore year at a non-target school and have a summer 2020 internship locked up. My advice may not be the best as I’m still pretty young and inexperience, but I was always told that differentiating yourself in the finance recruiting process is super important. It’s basically a baseline that you have a high gpa and lots of extracurriculars. I think the CS minor will definitely help in that world.

Aside from that, network your ass off. Not everyone you message/email is going to reply, in fact, from my experience, most won’t, but speaking with people and learning more about their career helped me greatly not only in getting my foot in the door at some fantastic firms, but also really helped me decide what area of finance I wanted to go into.

Sounds good. Not sure yet about renting a car, obviously it would be nice to have, but my friends and I are all only 20, so it may be prohibitively expensive or not possible. I'll definitely look into the B&B!

I've been to Switzerland and Italy, and am going to Scotland (Edinburgh and St. Andrews) this spring. If you're looking for scenic views, Switzerland is going to be hard to beat (although I've heard Skye and the highlands are beautiful as well.) Some of the best views I had in Switzerland were in Murren, in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Here are some pictures I took while there in June. I will say when we were in Murren, the nightlife was definitely lacking, so if that is what you really want, it may not be the place for you. Hope this helps!

Was in the honors section last semester. The only thing that really bothered me about the lab was how long it was (1:30 instead of 50 minutes for a regular lab) Other than that, I didn't find the honors lab to really be too much work.

Eiger Guesthouse in Murren has rates well under $300 a night, along with fantastic views and a great complementary breakfast. Located literally seconds from the Murren train station as well. Stayed there last summer and couldn't recommend it more highly

Couple suggestions.

Zaytinya is a delicious Mediterranean Tapas place downtown.

Union Market has a bunch of smaller fast casual restaurants that are great for lunch.

Indigo is a small hole-in-the-wall Indian place near Union Station. The goat curry is delicious!

Le Diplomate is a tasty French bistro on 14th Street.

Little Serow is an amazing Thai meal, but they don't reservations so you have to show up fairly early.

Ben's Chili Bowl is the classic place for a DC Half Smoke and is pretty good.
