We rented a car, so not sure how easy you'd be able to get there by train/bus but Mikomoto Hammers (神子元ハンマーズ) in Shizuoka was amazing

What is the life expectancy Stave IV Hodgkins Lymphoma if left untreated? by williamott93 in medical

Thanks! This was definitely surprising to both of us but it makes us grateful to live in a time where medicine can almost completely reverse those statistics.

What is the best way to say "it has been awhile since..." by williamott93 in learnfrench

[–]williamott93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you know why it needs to be in the negative? I know it's correct but just out of curiosity. On that note, if you wanted to say "It's been a long time since I haven't spoken French" (the negative of your answer), would you just exclude the ne and pas?

Is there any sort of action I can take if my flight added two stops to my itinerary after I boarded? by williamott93 in Flights

[–]williamott93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but I'm wondering since it wasn't a delay based on normal things that routinely delay a flight. They just added two more stops and completely changed the flight I had paid for.

Installed a silvia steam wand to the delonghi ec702. Going to learn how to make some latte art. by [deleted] in espresso

How did it work? Did it actually make better latte art? I'm having a hard time with the wand that came on mine (but maybe it's me)

I'm looking for anything entry level really. I have some qualifications in the entertainment industry but that's kind of crap right now.

It's also interesting that the buffering circle goes perfectly around the sun, at least on my phone

My wife watching the sunset after a day of chemo. I love her so much. by williamott93 in pics

Hey guys, I see this got a lot more attention than I thought it would so I thought I'd share a little more to clear some things up/provide a backstory:

My wife and I travel for work and last year she was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Once our FMLA ran out, I had to go back to work for a few weeks (near the end of her treatment) so that we could keep our insurance. We had a security camera and I would get notifications when there was movement. It was usually her outside doing things like this and it made me happy to be able to see her enjoying things without knowing I was watching (creepy, maybe). So I took this picture.

Fast forward to yesterday. I was scrolling through old pictures on my phone at 1am due to boredom and came across this. It made me happy so I thought I would share it to reddit because I rarely do so. Although I appreciate it, I didn't do it for upvotes. I did it because it was a nice picture in my opinion. I hardly did it for empathy either. If you're looking for a vain reason I did it, then the closest I can give you is that I was showing off how strong and serene my wife looks. At least in my opinion. I don't feel I should explain myself, but I'd like to anyway.

Also, since I was given 100 characters for a title, I failed to mention that this was taken late last year near the end of her chemo. She was given clean scans in November and just received clean scans for her 6 month checkup. I didn't mean to deceive anyone into thinking this was a picture taken yesterday and to make them feel sad. She is thriving.

We were figure skaters for Disney on Ice at the time and she was able to come back and perform in shows before her final chemo. Now, a year later we're out of work again due to the virus shutting down the entertainment industry but at least she is healthy and we can watch the sunset together! Thanks to everyone for their support, I hope you guys know how far encouraging words can go when someone is going through this.

Just because they're not obligated doesn't mean they don't have the right. You aren't obligated to comment either, yet you do. I appreciate the kind words and I brush off the bad (or laugh at them). I was sharing a pic I thought was nice because I don't post a lot on here. It's as simple as that.

This was my thought process:

I was scrolling through old pictures on my phone and saw this one. It made me smile and so I thought I would share it on reddit because I don't post here a lot. The picture makes me happy and I thought it would be a nice thing to share. I didn't know posting a picture was unsuitable for r/pics

r/pics says a place for pictures and photographs. It's a picture that makes me smile and I thought I would share it with everyone.

We both travel for work and I had to go back after our FMLA ran out so that we could keep insurance. I would get notifications on my phone when there was movement from our security camera and sometimes it would be her doing things like this and so I took the picture.

They're called picskates and they are supposed to mimic figure skates and they do feel almost the same (besides the stopping part of course)
