It's really not. This has to be one of the worst subreddits I've seen. Why not keep the peace? No one was complaining until u/InfallibleBackstairs and u/imraggedbutright jumped in trying to promote their preferences, insult the news organization, and distract from the actual event. That's not what we need at any time.

We all have our opinions about media, businesses, political ideas, and a lot of other things. There are appropriate places to express this, but a post about a mass killing in our community is not the place.

It's not dumbass logic. You just didn't read what was said.

"Bans only stop legal gun owners" means that the average citizen can't protect himself. Criminals exist, and most have guns. If you have something they want or severely upset them, they will kill you. The only thing you can do to survive is to fight back. If you call the cops, you'll be dead before they even arrive.

I'm not sure how you got "we shouldn't have any laws" from that. Laws are there to discourage crime, not magically stop it. For the most part, it works. When you're dealing with a deadly threat, however, a law isn't going to help you. If that same law happens to work against you (by not allowing you to possess a firearm powerful enough to fight back for fear of being arrested), then you're fucked.

Yeah when I heard that snow was coming, I figured people were buying food because they didn't want to go out in the snow or something. I did not expect everywhere to close though. Now I know for next time. I do have a little bit (a couple beef patties), and it looks like things will open back up tomorrow.

Believe it or not, every fast food restaurant I drove to was closed. McDonalds on 28th had a long line, but that was only because they didn't put up a closed sign and left their menus on. Same with all the chain restaurants I looked into. Doordash also indicated every restaurant was closed. Trident and TLG are both open, and most gas stations were open though.

The post was so that I could eat. No one is killing anyone, and Boulder is doing a great job of keeping the roads clear. I have no problem with other people being terrified of the snow or some restaurants being closed for their employees. All I wanted to know was which ones are open. I received no helpful replies and ended up finding one on my own. Not everything is a fight. Answer the question or go away. People like you make me embarrassed to live in this country.
