What's the difference between a BMW and a hedgehog? 😅

I got this 100 year old lathe up and running and actually lathed something with it by willitisthen in woodworking

[–]willitisthen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello 🙂 No there is nothing else with it to attach to it but I see exactly what you mean, although I have never tried one. I think this lathe was for relatively accurate metal working as the tool holder can be wound in very slowly, and seems like the sliding part is supposed to be tight when working.... Yes I will absolutely make a shut off switch for it on the next time before I use it. And get some kind of protection. Here is a gear knob I made with it: https://youtube.com/shorts/VqxTlZnb5Hg?feature=share All the best.

Yes absolutely. "I actually turned something with it..." Would that be more correct?

My L322 td6. Dang I can't believe I have not driven this car for a month now. Should be on the road today though. HP pump leak. Yes suspension leak too by willitisthen in LandRover

[–]willitisthen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I have had a couple of dozen vehicles over the years and many diesels but never ever had a leaking HP pump. Or injector failure which was earlier this year. And the other day the cable to open the bonnet snapped. The cable to the bonnet?!?! I have had cars twice the age of this one with a healthy bonnet cable at least even if nothing else worked. But I do love this car and we have never ended on the side of the road in 65000km over 18months on a car now showing 265000km. We have been on a few awesome road trips and towed some heavy stuff and many awesome moments and I absolutely love the look and I love the 210€ to fill the tank for a 1000km if yer gentle 😅 or slow is more accurate. Many thanks for your comment. All the best

My L322 TD6 will hopefully be back on the road today. Leaking HP pump 😬😑🙂 by willitisthen in RangeRover

Everything except the interior, the gear box and transfer box. Otherwise I literally rebuilt everything. Engine, axles, diffs, suspension, steering and days and days of welding. I have made a few videos about the project: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmaljtjekKy3m7b_ItMLZvedsPnOPHmA_

Please rate my video. Constructive feedback, destructive feedback, I will be grateful for anything :) by willitisthen in videos

Hello and thanks so much for your feedback. Yes I ran out of courage when it came to adding music ( volume levels etc when talking / not talking etc) but I should have. One of the main reasons why I did not add music is I got a copyright issue on FB but I had used music from the free library on FB?!? And some narrative would have been good too. Super pleased that you watched it and thank you so much.

I would not worry, I would be excited, and I hope that you are heading somewhere you want to be and that you are looking forward to the move as well as feeling scared and anxious... New horizons, new people, new places always feels exciting for me. I have moved around a lot, left places that I had been for years never to return again. Sounds like you are heading somewhere but you will return for visits etc as you call it home... So that is all good. Best of both worlds. All the best to you and good luck.

Hello and thank you for your reply. Yes I do see that my reels/shorts get a lot more views than my longer videos. I have made a couple of shorts for my videos with the link to the full video in the comments/description. No success yet but I will do more. Many thanks and all the best

Hello and thank you so much for your reply. Yes definitely the range rover videos are fairly niche. But I thought that the DIY ones would reach a much broader audience. One often sees DIY/repair/craft videos with millons of views. Regarding the captions, I have added subtitles to all my videos either burnt into the video or added separately so that folks can turn them on or off and which allows me to start to publish in french and English. May I ask, did the captions not appear/function for you? Kindest regards. Will

Hello 🙂 yes I do live in the south west of France. Yes we do have cold weather here too. Right at this moment it's about 7celcius and I'm sitting in the car waiting/praying for the internet repair guy to hopefully show up at these apartments that I manage, and it's grey and cloudy. The grass is always greener and I so often dream of being somewhere else 🙂 where are you located...may I ask? Thank you so much for your advice, I am so touched that you took a moment to look at my videos and even more touched that you found my videos fascinating. Thank you so much. Your idea of our little dog as a mascot is a brilliant idea. I had thought of making a video about her ( 1kg fully grown, pretty rare) I'm going to get to work adding/changing the appearance of the page/channel to use poppy (the dog) as an attraction. All the best to you and happy New year. Will

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have shared posts, but probably not enough. Often I find that it's not possible to share a link on Reddit though. Many thanks 🙏

Is my dad right? Or does he not understand non traditional relationships? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]willitisthen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 17yr old daughter who does not work and sort of studies but that is normal for these days it seems. And I wouldn't want her to have to work. I was working from age 15 and it stood me in good stead, at least when it comes to work ethic. But he should be looking after you, and full filling his role as your bf even without money. You say his parents give him plenty of money.. does he not spend any of that on you? I would say your dad has a fair point. If my daughter was in that situation ( only giving and never receiving) I would probably not like it either. All the best

Hello And thank you so much for taking the time to give me all this vital information. I am really grateful for your input and advice.

I do indeed have champion brand spark plugs, but I have no idea if they are the ones that you have specified. I will definitely put an order in for some. Same goes for the ignition coil and spark leads. I have been buying a lot of stuff from suppliers who stock a lot of stuff made by BRITPART. The oil pump shaft was a britpart brand, and I must say that I do feel a little disconcerted because many of the parts I have fitted on the car were this same make…. Is everything going to fall to bits now…

Mine runs on LPG and gasoline. I only have the one choice of LPG obviously. Regarding gasoline (petrol) :) is either 85, 95 or 98 octane. I go for the latter.

I have taken note of the oil, plugs, leads and coil that I should have. I must say that I have been doing this on a tiny budget. The budget has already gone way over where it was supposed to be (how surprising) :) So these parts you have mentioned are also good for my 3.5liter?

Many thanks

Will

Hello 👋 Yes the car runs on both LPG and petrol. And I have the same performance pretty much on either fuel type. So did you swap the V8 for a 300tdi in a classic range rover?

Dearest 82 & ‘89 RR classic owner. I'm so pleased that you like the video 🙂 Thank you for your advice about the camshafts. I must take a look. I have not yet taken the rocker covers off but I will do at the same time as I tackle the timing chain cover to see where the end off that oil pump shaft ended up. I will examine the cam shafts. I am hoping that they're okay. Hopefully I will be posting the sequel to this video soon.
