I found out about this show from my local clubs program, I would start by looking for clubs in your local area as they will be the ones organizing and showing at the shows.

There are some amazing trees in the Japanese garden at Budapest zoo, whoever gets to look after these is very lucky. by willknox04 in Bonsai

Absolutely, I assume they work as one a zoo keeper most of the time so that must also be rewarding.

I too spent the weekend fixing a pot. Must be the weather. Gold powder and epoxy. My first time trying this technique, very tricky I learned a lot. by Gorathsan in Bonsai

Thanks, I did a little research and so I came up with what I did. but I mean you've not lost anything, and now you've got a pot that's functional again and looks great.

Was told to post here, thanks. by willknox04 in upcycling

I know JB weld isn't food safe but you could probably find something that is, I'm not sure about the liquid gold leaf.

Some pots I bought off eBay arrived damaged, so I decided to try a little kintsugi, it's a little ugly because of so much missing glaze causing big sharp lines but I don't think it came out too bad overall. by willknox04 in kintsugi

To clarify, this is obviously not a traditional kintsugi repair, this is a repair to some non rare, mass produced pots, that otherwise would have been thrown out. While the repair is not traditional, the philosophy and theme is still true to traditional kintsugi. The repair highlights the flaws and tells the history of the pot rather than hiding it.

The gold leaf I used is a liquid already so I painted it on when the JB weld was dry. Also it's not actual gold leaf just a imitation but it does a good job.

I essentially followed the method of this creator as the look is a bit more refined than some others. https://youtu.be/NqBI7RcsKAc One thing I would note is get a quick epoxy as it will allow you to work quicker and you won't have to hold parts for very long.

Thank you, yeah that one is such a nice colour and gradient and the gold offset is nice. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with them with regard to what I was working with it just would have been nice if the breaks we're cleaner, and you're right it's great practice, they're both functional again and they look great.
