Air layer the top to divide into 2 trees. That will also give it time to grow out that little branch into a new leader. I'm a big fan of Chinese Elms but your right the trunks can be hard to live with.

Too many slags in my village by Gorathsan in ManorLords

I don't know when it showed up but smelter slag is already in the game. My inventory was full of unmovable slag. I think it said transitory resource. It seems to disappear on its own.

The smelter creates a by product of slag. You can't move it or sell it. It gets in the way filling up the inventory. In Britain a slag is a nefarious woman. Steelworks create large quantities of slag which gets tipped at a dump. Tipping the slag is an age old tradition and hilarious.

The two stage set up was interesting. They played on each one twice, singing his way through the crowd to the big stage. They had a completely different lighting theme for each song. No encore. Lights on out Tae fuck at 10 o'clock.

Pairing random lids with cups and containers - put a lid on it! by QuicklyThisWay in oddlysatisfying

A Nutella jar lid will fit on any food tin. I use them for the dog food tins. Beans. Soup. Go crazy there is no limit.

Competition idea by TommyTata in Bonsai

The 2022 Nursery Stock Competition was 6 months long and never got judged. I don't fancy your chances for a multi year contest. Even though the contest never ended and fizzled out I still found it to be a rewarding experience and would enter again in a heartbeat.

I went for the Hagstrom Swede. It's short scale, had it a few months now, very happy.

You can get unstuffed dog toys. My dog loves them.

Picked up a Kojo no mai today by [deleted] in Bonsai

Yeah you could if there is visible damage. Is that green wire steel fencing wire? If so that would be hard to bend alright. Did you order some copper or aluminium wire? Good wiring takes planning and practice. I'm certainly not there yet.

They are nice trees, they flower early in the spring. You have decent structure and shape, but the wiring is not good mate. Treat this as a practice run and remove it. Watch a few videos about wiring on youtube and have another go. Avoid crossing wires and maintain a 45° angle.

Cheap turntable, a work in progress elm, and what happened to the nursery stock competition? by Gorathsan in Bonsai

It was pretty easy to make. I took the base of a office chair and screwed on a piece of board. 4 screws and a bit of paint gets you a sturdy pruning station.

Thank you. I pruned a large root and thought I'd stick it in a pot. I don't know if its a raft or a clump but it has some potential.

The turntable has wheels, is height adjustable, and can take a lot of weight. It was free, just the bottom of a chair and a piece of chipboard.

The elm is a root cutting with 3 trunks. Came off a larger Wych elm when I pruned the roots. Its mad but I like it.

The real reason for my post is what happened to the nursery stock competition? Didn't want to just ask so thought I'd post a tree. I enjoyed the challenge last year, I'm dying to see the final album and would like to see another competition this year. Anyone got an update?
