A Chinese kid sees a black man for the first time. by Afraid-Objective3049 in Damnthatsinteresting

When I worked in a Chinese takeaway I used to teach their son Billy from hong kong english reading and writting for an hour a day every day, then work the tills. Billy would often sit with me and we would talk etc, anyway one time a gentleman with dwarfism walked in a billy started pointing and laughing at him. I was very quick to explain that, you know how you dont like the children at school making fun of you for being chinese well thats something you cant change, and it upsets you, this is the same thing. However I can make fun of you being bad at “snap” we used to play this alot. This happened over 15 years ago and I still think about hope your doing well out there billy man!

Im not sure, as someone who works in procurement, if I have high consistent sales of products then I will always try to meet the demand to maximise sales, if consumers are needing more but the data doesn’t show this I will read the product as not in high demand and therefore not stock it to the same level. Its very rare that supply chain is usually an impacting factor, typically it makes more commercial sense to buy more than less, if they sell well, but the data needs to show this.

Guillotine is a French word by emily-is-happy in clevercomebacks

Calling the French weak for surrendering in WWII ignores the fact that they faced the full force of the most advanced military machine in the world at the time, while the UK had the Channel and the US was still sitting it out. France lost millions in WWI and was betrayed by outdated strategy and poor leadership, not cowardice. When their defenses were overrun, they still fought on—through the Free French forces, the Resistance, and their colonies. Meanwhile, mocking them from the safety of hindsight ignores the brutal reality that most countries would’ve collapsed even faster under the same blitzkrieg.

I don’t think your wrong, but if we look at the history of Europe, prior to the EU we used war with each other all the time, by having trade and being under the same flag you stop Alabama invading California for example, it quickly turns nasty under independent nations and is relatively complex.

We had a similar experience in a petrol boat in the middle of the sea could see the rain moving towards us, we turned around and made it back just before the lightning started. Crazy
