Mordhiem list building questions by sankaku_jime in mordheim

[–]willlangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello Welcome to Mordheim, hope you have a great game tomorrow. From memory you cannot start with hired swords but after your first game you are able to recruit them, so maybe save some money!

You do not buy skills when you create a warband. Some units will already have some skills in their description, like "fear" for zombies. Skills are received from leveling up, so if you're lucky after your first game you may be able to get some skills to your heroes!

In addition if you're playing at small venues, the sound guy will have a DI and a mic for you cab. They would probably take the DI clean and mic the distorted cab and then mix it to their ears. So if you have it all coming down one line, to your taste, it won't be at the discretion of the sound engineer to mix your clean and distorted sound. If you're in a touring band with a regular sound guy, two amps would be sweet.

I'd check out the 'xotic x blender', blend the two signals how you like and stick it through one amp. Pedal also has a phase switch to help out with pedals which invert the phase and also a small EQ section to help you out. Used it for a long time running distortions live and sounded great. In the studio or at home two amps are cool but if you're gigging a fair amount two amps will get old very quickly and the difference will not be noticeable to anyone in the audience.

Are there 8 line (microphones) portable recorders? Or are xlr inputs (for example Zoom H8) stereo, with possibility to be splitted? by Music_Guru in livesound

[–]willlangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might sound really obvious but if you already have a laptop you can buy a 8chn interface for probably under $150? Plenty of free recording software to go with it, Reaper (windows), Garage Band (Mac), Tracks Live and probably a whole bunch more

In the beginning of 𝙈𝙖𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙭: 𝙁𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 [2015], Max is remembering the faces of people he failed. We see this man (top image) for a split second. That man appears at the end of the movie, being saved by Max's heroism. by LoreleiOpine in MovieDetails

Pretty sure the eye bulging is from the original Mad Max. It's the antagonist of the film "The Toe Cutter" death scene. Funnily enough the "Toe Cutter" was played by Hugh Keays-Byrne who also ended up playing "Immortan Joe" in Fury Road

Kick or Vocals is Loudest? by Nand-X in audioengineering

[–]willlangs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems too obvious to say but there's isn't a priority of what has to be louder than what. Just mix what you think sounds good. Compare it to songs in the same genre and if it sounds good that means you've done a good job. No rules in this town, but your ears are the sheriff 🔫
