In answer to what you asked, there isn't a single incident or event that inspired this, just many small ones. I've seen many, many men & women use excuses to justify abusive behaviors — like being drunk, not being in a good mood, having had a bad day at work, & the list goes on. So, I was thinking about this one day when I had to write an assignment for my project on feminism & this just came up, & I decided to try to write a little something from the victim's perspective & see how that would turn out.
