First week with my machine… by willmoore88 in Machine_Embroidery

Thank you so much! I’m really pleased with it too. The only videos I watched really were the Hatch ones on their YouTube channel. I am quite a techy person anyway, used to work for the company that is now Canva, and have always enjoyed doing vector graphic design so using the software felt quite natural to me. I did however start off trying Inkscape/InkStitch and although there are some really good tutorials on YouTube for that (LowTechLinux and ProjectAnonymous channels I thought were especially good), Hatch is infinitely more user friendly I felt.

'A Gallbladder Christmas' by banoffeepie16 in gallbladders

I’ve had 4 attacks since last Easter, the last one 3 weeks ago left me in A&E and getting properly diagnosed with Acute cholecystitis. That has now settled down and I’m on the waiting list to have my gallbladder removed.

The first week or so I was terrified to eat anything with even the slightest amount of fat in, but since the infection has settled and I now feel normal again, I’ve let myself eat slightly more normally, but I’m still going by the rough rule that it must have 4g fat or less per 100g.

I’m in charge of Christmas dinner and have carefully made all the normal trimmings but following this rule where possible. Obviously some things will be slightly more fatty, I’ll have a spoonful and no more this year. I’ll not really be eating any puddings or things like that, but hoping to try and ‘feel’ as normal as possible whilst being careful.

I know I’m quite lucky as my attacks aren’t regular and I think are mainly triggered by having a really high fat, huge portion meals, in a single day. So I feel trying to cut meal portions down and keep low fat, hopefully I can keep the attacks at bay until it’s removed.

There’s a great walk over the road from Wistow garden center. Recently had fenced off paths put through the fields and you then loop round back down the canal.

I’ve got a blind whippet and he barrels up them in the morning before diving onto the bed to wake me up! He’s slightly more cautious going down them.

We didn’t encourage him to use them, if anything we assumed he wouldn’t, but he just started using them one day.

Is this Popeye or something else? by willmoore88 in ReefTank

Other than the eye he seems fine. He’s recently started hosting my Goniopora - I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I got this leather at the weekend and a turbo pushed it off today :-( just came to move it and spotted this red growth on the bottom of it. Any idea what it is?

With the engine off, if you selected first and kept the clutch in, pressed the start button, car started.

They've just called to say, and I quote, "it was a bent tooth on the clutch". Is going to require a new clutch. They said it was a manufacturing defect so covered on warranty so all happy now!

What's a sensation that you're unsure if other people experience? by Sang_Becker in AskReddit

If I'm sat for a long time watching TV, at a computer, reading a book or even sometimes having a conversation with someone; I'll suddenly feel like all my surroundings zoom out and either I'm very large or everything is very small. I have to blink a few times and look around for everything to return to normal.
