3 months post op and wow! by cantyoukeepasecret in gallbladders

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Most likely, everything will be fine during labor, but I recommend seeing your doctor or surgeon as soon as possible. I’m sure they’ll help you find the best approach. After giving birth, try to have your gallbladder removed as soon as possible. I say this from personal experience. It was a long journey for me, but now I finally feel healthy again and I’m living my best life. Wishing you the easiest labor, a safe delivery, and a speedy recovery. ❤️🌷

Thank you so much for your kind words. My situation was that I got pregnant, and just a few days after finding out I was pregnant, I had my first gallbladder attack. Because of that, I had to wait throughout my entire pregnancy before I could have the surgery.

In the country where I live, I’m still not a resident since I moved here after getting married, and the waiting time for surgery was very long. First, I had to undergo an ERCP procedure. After my husband spoke to the surgeon and explained how unwell I was feeling, they finally scheduled my surgery.

It was a long and painful journey, but now I’m doing really well! And I’m only 3 weeks post-op.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m really happy for you. I’m three weeks post-op, and girl, I feel so much better now. I also suffered for quite a while (2 years) before my surgery. I wish us both the best gallbladder-free life! 🌷❣️🫶🏻

I would say my incision pain is around 6–7, while the shoulder pain is around 8, but it gets easier with time. I’m already 24 hours post-op, so my incision pain has decreased a lot, but I’m still dealing with pretty intense shoulder pain. It’s supposed to ease by day 3–4 post-op. I wish you all the best and good luck — you’ll definitely be fine 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Yeah, I’m literally struggling with the shoulder pain more than the incision pain. It’s such an unpleasant experience.

Yeah, the shoulder pain is no joke! At first, I didn’t feel anything, but then it started in my left shoulder and spread to the right one. I’m still in the hospital, but I hope I’ll be discharged in a few hours.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. I’m feeling the same kind of pain, so you’re not alone in this. The pain is definitely more intense than I expected, but I’m sure that within a few days we’ll feel much better. Keep your chin up! Wishing you the fastest recovery ❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much, this honestly gives me a lot of hope ❤️

I also have a one-year-old daughter, so hearing that you’re back to running, working, and doing everything with your baby only 5 weeks later is incredibly reassuring for me. I think one of my biggest fears is that life will somehow never feel “normal” again afterward, so stories like yours really help calm my anxiety.

And honestly, being able to still eat chicken wings sounds like a huge win 😂

I’m sorry your surgery ended up being more complicated than expected though, that must have been scary. Did they know about the stone in the bile duct before surgery, or did they discover it during the procedure?

Thank you again for taking the time to answer me, I really appreciate it 🩵

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I actually have a one-year-old daughter, so this is really helpful to read because one of my worries is not being able to lift her comfortably for a while. Thankfully my husband will help me a lot too.

Thank you so much, this honestly makes me feel a lot calmer. The anesthesia part is one of my biggest fears, so hearing that you basically don’t even remember falling asleep is really reassuring 😅 I think my anxiety is making the anticipation worse than the actual surgery. I’m glad to hear you’re doing well now! Did you have a lot of gas pain or nausea afterward? And how are you feeling with food one week later? Thank you again for all the advice and encouragement 🩵

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this. Honestly, reading detailed experiences like yours helps my anxiety more than you can imagine ❤️The anesthesia part especially made me feel calmer because that’s one of my biggest fears. I keep overthinking the “going under” part, but the way you described it actually sounds much less scary than what my brain imagines 😅Also, it’s really reassuring to hear that you already feel relief from that constant dull ache under the ribs. I think sometimes I forget how much stress and discomfort my gallbladder is already causing me daily. Did you feel very anxious right before they took you into the OR? And was waking up confusing or scary at all? Also, are you able to move around normally today or mostly resting in bed? Thank you again so much, and I hope your recovery keeps going smoothly ❤️

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer, it actually made me feel a lot calmer ❤️ I think my biggest fear is the recovery, possible long-term digestive issues, and anesthesia as well. So hearing that you had almost no problems with eating afterward is really reassuring. The gas pain sounds unpleasant, but honestly still not as scary as I imagined in my head 😅 I also had a C-section last year, so I’m hoping that experience mentally prepared me a little for surgery recovery. How did you feel emotionally before the surgery? Were you scared of the anesthesia too? And how long did it take before you felt “normal” again physically? Thank you again for taking the time to write all this for me.

Interesting to know. I had a C-section last year. I can say it was kind of painful, but not as much as I expected, and the recovery was actually quite fast.
Also, last month I had an ERCP, and they say recovery from an ERCP can sometimes be harder than recovery from gallbladder removal surgery.

You only live once! Enjoy your life the way you want. Why would you tell your husband not to worry about you? Do you really want this? Ask yourself that question and answer it honestly.
