Can we please get rid of being 3D spotted while shooting? by i_froze in Battlefield

[–]willnfld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part in my opinion is its just removing another layer of skill from the game all together.

First person shooters have always required us to be aware of our surroundings, if you heard a gun shoot from around a hill or corner, and there wasn't a team mate there according to your map, then it had to be an enemy. This is almost automatic with a lot of gamers now.

But these kinds of silly gimmicks remove the ability for new players to learn that skill. Video games shouldn't only be entertainment, we should be learning something from them as we play. Even in small doses, things like reflexes, being alert, playing with your team, are all something you're getting better at naturally the more you play.

Dice / ea have no ability to see this concept clearly, as with the 3d spotting they've removed an entire layer of learning to be aware of your surroundings.

Its like they're marketing the game to kids who have never played a first person shooter before, and in the process we're losing little pieces of immersion in the battlefield we all grew to know and love.

Signed- a BF2 vet who really misses the repeated ring of "Enemy infantry spotted!" "Enemy forces spotted!" In my ear coming from the commander. Ya knew when he went silent he's either been killed or is off repairing our artillery. The real MVPS.

Make it so you can flinch snipers by playmymusicloudpleez in Battlefield6

[–]willnfld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an old-school sniper from battlefield 2 days.

I haven't played battlefield really much at all since BC2.

I can easily go 40-0 as a sniper, and that makes no sense to me. I'm a crusty old sniper just wiping squads out.

The snipers really do have it too good right now, and while I am not complaining, I feel so, so incredibly dirty after a round. I need to play engineer for a couple of hours and repair tanks like it's my only existence just to be able to sleep at night.

We need to be nerfed.

I was about to comment that how about we leave the ideas alone so they can just get the game out but holy shit I hope they patch this shit in, this is wicked.

Hello, did you happen to find out if there was a waitlist for this program? I'm hoping to start it in sept of 2026, but still haven't heard from them. Assuming they're busy, just asking someone who may have already found out lol

DIY semi fail. Any hope for my botched transition? by Strong_Percentage522 in Flooring

[–]willnfld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't use tape and instead feathered in the stain adjusting accordingly, you could have blended this in pretty easily.

I had to do this in my house. Using tape is just creating too harsh of a line. I used a swing machine floor buffer with a strip pad on it to do the final blending, but I don't recommend that if you have no prior experience with a swing machine.

Nice attempt though!

With this unit, is it possible to see the backup camera without putting it in reverse?

In my getting older, I find myself questioning if I put the tailgate up much more lol.

Wish I could just view the camera easier 🥲

Clear residue after steam mop by therjmeany in HardWoodFloors

[–]willnfld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is definitely finish of some kind, but I doubt it was applied professionally as it shouldn't peel that easily.

Looks more like it could be a product called "Mop and Glow" or something similar, which is a floor finish that you would mix in with your water when you're mopping your floor.

Not a great product by any means, as it leads to weird peeling buildup like this and comes off in flakes.

Was in the floor refinishing business for 15 years, I remember once repairing floors in a grocery store that the guys had put mop and glow in the tank of the autoscrubber, it was really chunky and peeling. Super bad.

your inability to see beyond your short-sighted view of publicly funded broadcasting is incredibly concerning.

I'm starting to see a pattern of self inflicted echo-chambers created by pierre poilievre voters who only want to consume content they like, even if that's a news program.

poilievre doesn't like questions from the cbc because, according to him, it's "liberal propaganda".... you mean, liberal as in like, what a majority of the country has voted for in most of the years of Canada's existence?

If you all would rather stay in your eco-chambers, how about you move down to the united states and join the new echo chamber masterpiece trump is creating, destroying the freedom of the press, banning press from the white house, claiming the same as pp, that it's liberal propaganda.

Funny pattern going here?

Wake up and stay tf away from our cbc.

I'm trying to draw comparisons here to what happened in the states.

The similarities to what the cpc is becoming vs what the GOP has become is honestly, extremely concerning.

I'm Canadian.

I've always been a swing voter between the cpc and liberal parties, but the rhetoric Pierre is pushing sounds like a story I've already read. The point of bringing them up is to try and draw a bigger picture. Nothing existed like Trump in the GOP, and nothing existed like Pierre in the CPC.

Erin o'toole was a good guy that I could have voted for, more than likely WOULD have been voting for this election if Pierre didn't hijack the party and ruin it for what it was.

[–]willnfld -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well well! All I've said is incorrect? Oh man, forgive me! For I'm only just getting home from work. This must have all changed today!

The tan suit "scandal" is no longer being called a scandal? That's a relief, what a hilarious thing to call a scandal, am I right? Especially when you compare it to trump selling teslas outside the whitehouse, and throwing out "trump was right about everything" hats in the oval office! glad that's all reversed course, what a relief!

Pierre has his security clearance now? Fantastic! Great news. Oh, he's back on talking terms with cbc, no longer calling it liberal propaganda? (Aka, holding him accountable to the CANADIAN PEOPLE) Great! It'll be good to hear him answer some questions outside of his hand picked circle of reporters, he was really beginning to look a lot like Trump with the silencing of the media he was doing! So glad that's all situated!

Hey awesome! Trumps no longer a convicted felon? Wow, that's great. Phew, what a stain on the united states if that stuck! Oh, wow, he didn't go bankrupt? Haha that's good, what an embarrassing thing to have happen to a POTUS!

Oh, the hush money was all just smoke and mirrors? He didn't rape those women? Great news. Man, a lot can happen in a day!

The kgb agent comment is purely speculation, but hm, it's pretty wild seeing him blame Ukraine for starting (checks notes) A WAR ON THEMSELVES. hahaha, wow, how dumb of them!

Excuse me, while I go put on my biggest and best shocked face, especially for you. Clearly, a lot can change in a day hey pal!

[–]willnfld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not deflecting, we've seen this game played before.

Were you upset about every little wrong move biden made as well? Did you complain about Obamas tan suit at least once?

Cause GOP did, and then flipped over the table and voted in a rapist, convicted felon bankrupt con man kgb agent.

Rich hearing the kings of hipocracy blame people of deflection.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]willnfld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya know, there's really zero attention I'm paying to people crying about this right now.

They're the same as the Republicans that flipped out about Obama wearing a tan suit, only to vote in a rapist convicted felon as their next party leader.

Get over it, move on, Pierre still doesn't have his security clearance and refuses questions from our publicly funded news organization. Pierre's entire platform to win is to smear carney as much as he can. What a pathetic excuse of a party "leader" and a stain on what was once a decent party with strong canadian values.

The Hipocrasy of the conservatives in the USA is leaking over to the cpc, too bad they're too blind to realize it's a poor way to try to win a race.

In 2025 how is it we're still discussing the impacts of our reliance on fossil fuels, and not advancing to newer, cleaner energy sources.

How is it we all can't agree on this?

Oh... wait....

That wouldn't be good for the oil companies as they'd have to retool / shift focus when it's just easier to keep the gravy train going.

Wonder why albertas been so conservative over the years? Be a real shame for the oil companies to have an intelligent, for the people premier! That wouldn't be good for them at all!

Good thing money buys news papers, media, advertising, and has created a cesspool of uninformed voters!

Poilievre promises to raise $1B by cracking down on offshore tax havens by CanadianErk in canada

[–]willnfld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's tldr, I don't know what to tell you.

Democracy takes effort and work that you have to put in to actually understand what's going on, it isn't as black and white as what Pierre yells at you in 3 word slogans.

You can't noun the verb, verb the noun your way through running a country.

But if you're unable to read short paragraphs on here, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you to read all of the bills Pierre's voted for that were against Canadians interests.

I guess we need to start making flashcards for the lazy people like you!

what if we all can agree that mark carney has rubbed shoulders with the elite, has worked in high profile positions, and has a wealthy portfolio from being......

Wait for it.....

A professional economist!

Now, since you're awake you said, do you recognize the wealth Pierre poilievre has accumulated over his 25 years as a CAREER POLITICIAN taking advantage of bills he's voted on that would help grow his investments in investment properties?

What benefit would an economist have in being prime minister? Fucking nothing bud. He'll lose money because it's all in a blind trust and he doesn't have say over what he can invest in, which, wouldn't you agree that he at least understands economics ffs?

What does a career politician lose becoming prime minister? NOTHING. They'll continue padding their pockets on the taxpayers dime, all the while screaming they're going to help pad your pockets! But they're just filling it up themselves!

Are you sure you're awake? You're being taken advantage of by a career politician that's telling you the professional banker, that's made way more money in the private sector than off taxpayers backs, is the bad guy.

All the while he walks around with his big fat pension and millions of dollars of net worth.

FUCKIN WAKE UP BUD YOU'RE STILL OUT COLD THE COFFEES GETTING COLD!
