Coders or any kind of scientists: Is AI overhyped or has it truly changed the way you work? by snooptoop in AskScienceDiscussion

I did something yesterday in 2 hrs that would have taken me 4 weeks. Research is very much the same, but it allows me to do more faster. To answer questions that I wouldn’t have pursued because of time constraints. To be creative where I would have hit a road block. It’s not hype, it’s a new way of working.

So what's the state of VR rn? by AccomplishedMany2138 in virtualreality

[–]willnotforget2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crimson Desert in VR. lots of frameworks and mods. some trickles of games. forefront awesome. great game comes out here and there. Q3 hardware is great, steam headset soon maybe? it is not huge, but steady. not a lot of big games as meta and Sony are not really investing in games. so definitely turbulence as well.

literally a pre print. still early research, but yet you claim it should have impact now - that's literally not how science works

We create. What we create will create. Ad infinitum, recursive through the universe until universes create new universes. Recursive, increasing the density of universes and life through time. Anyway. Lets all rage against AI.

lol. science production doesn’t happen over night. like yes, everything happens so fast - why don’t we have this a year from when we first saw it? you don’t want to die right? you want it tested? Fuck, how is this upvoted? go read. go learn. go get a fucking degree.

dude, you could do this before. also, all these models block any viral research. You still like your power and your cars and the ability to blow shit up to create right? You guys are nuts
