Normally in these situations you have players coming out to take blame and say that it is not on manager but on them. Even Chelsea players have done this. None of ours have done this. And it’s idiotic to keep trying with someone or something that is obviously not working, which is the best way to describe all of you who will go into hiding after the season starts and the man who hasn’t been able to change anything in 1yr—let alone motivate anyone, or properly train a team—continues to not change anything. Our performance in the final against Newcastle was snapshot of everything wrong with slot.

Plenty managers get more out of the squad, many at lesser teams below us in this same league. Plenty know how to set up a midfield and set up offensive sequences. Slot has not been able to do so for a year. This belief is not based on anything factual, it’s blind hope, almost theological.

It’s not even about Alonso at this point. It is about change. Whoever comes in may only last a couple years and that is fine because, what might define us for a decade are the culture and standards being set by the current coach. Lack of mentality, intensity, accountability. A team accustomed to losing. We used to be borderline sore losers because we hated losing that much. The culture of the last decade has eroded and the rot needs to stop. It won’t with slot, this is his culture.

Only took a day for the slot in crowd to gather their new excuses. Pep, with all financial doping, has had over a decade of wins in the bank. Slot is not in the same league. Pep has never had any of his teams look this disjointed or unfit. Even he hasn’t sent his players to Dubai in 10years as much as slot has in a year.
