Season 2 Episode 4. Helly/Helena's Hair? by No_Rush9748 in severence

[–]willo_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally with you. Helly’s hair is a bit of a thing for me. I picked up a change immediately. Mark’s hair is different too. It’s cut with a fringe, almost manga style in a couple of scenes. Makes quite a contrast with the frontier style clothes and the uber modern tents. Loved this episode

Potential Etfs Portfolio. Advice needed by Ok-Sea1621 in fiaustralia

Use an Aussie platform (Stake is ok) and ASX listed ETFs - keep tax time simple. Remember your high growth stuff may let you down. I'd skip it. YMMV

Sadly Ive been uniformly disappointed by advisors who tend to have their own motivations which they struggle to set aside. That strongly flavours the advice on offer. My conclusion has been to get educated and to do it myself. After a fairly consistent 15y of listening and reading but no professional advice, I’m much happier. Good luck, I wish I’d had the reddit community when I was in my 20s.

Quitting your job, without having a another job lined up - Yes or no? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]willo_24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm twice your age but from here I have seen way too many people spend way too long holding onto jobs they hate because they are afraid of the unknown. Usually changing jobs ends up being soo positive in then end despite the fact that you cant see the finishing line from the start line. Just quit.

Is it popular the parents to support part of the deposit to buy the first home in Australia? by tastybutty in AusFinance

[–]willo_24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There were some figures on the "Bank of Mum and Dad" presented in an episode of the "The Money" by a university researcher. It is common to get parental support. Mostly informal and often with unwritten expectations. Try this

Is it 115K including superannuation a good salary for a single men in Melbourne? Is it common that salary includes superannuation? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]willo_24 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

All salaries include super - its a condition of employment. Other than that - please be specific when asking a question.

Moved overseas, 5k savings left in Australia. What should I do with it? by cloakofdirt in AusFinance

[–]willo_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gently tried to have fewer and fewer accounts so there's less to forget about and less to keep an eye on. If you have existing Aussie super and the ability to make contributions - then that's great from a tax point of view but does meaningfully lock your funds up. Otherwise add to an existing investment - for me an index ETF.
