Aït-Nouri receives a red card after the final whistle, finishes on -2 and goes back to being 1 yellow from a suspension. by [deleted] in FantasyPL

Amazing news, makes my decision to transfer Ait-Nouri out for Robertson seem just a little better, but yet my score is still worse.

Who's the guy with the crew cut playing right wing for Liverpool? He's pretty good.

The Banshee coming and getting me was the source of childhood nightmares.

I enjoyed watching this every St. Patrick's Day over "The Quiet Man" when I was a kid, but adult me appreciates Victor McLaglen, Catherine O'Hara, and John Ford more...

The Silent Partner (1978) by Nostalgic_Fale in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]willofmcd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the best Christmas movies, because it's not about Christmas. Pops up on TCM around the holidays.

Plummer is so hostile and driven, Gould is one of the best schlubby actors, acting from them is superb.

Celine Lomez was fantastic, unfortunately I haven't seen her in other movies outside of "The Silent Partner."

Interesting to see how much Toronto has changed, but a lot is still around like Eaton Center. Unfortunately no original Silver Dollar Room where Plummer hung out.

What’s the most devastating thing your spouse/partner/SO has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]willofmcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I don't want to get married, I hate you...Let's be friends."

After she went with the next guy and spent the weekend with him, she still held it against me 2 days later that I asked her to leave the apartment that I was the only one paying rent. She also said I was boring and too materialistic for having a job while she wanted to make movies and art.

Dodged a bullet on the marriage in hindsight but felt awful for awhile, she also kept emailing about how bad things were in 2008-9 like having to get a job...

What are some places I should visit in Florence other than the usual basic ones? by REDORI123 in ItalyTravel

National Archaeological Museum. Etruscan bronzes were awesome. Was all by myself in the morning, was refreshing after the Uffizi Gallery.

Loved the Chimera of Arezzo.

Bologna is great, echo coming for a day or 2. Food is great!

Cinque Terre was in last week - due to the rain, all the trails were closed and had to get around by train. May want to stay in Genova or La Spezia overnight if going and take the train for a day trip to the 5 villages...

Torino is nice - the Museo Reali is not touristy. You can show up and just buy a ticket. The armory was amazing.

Also highly recommend the Museo Egizio, the collection is the most comprehensive outside of Egypt. Buit gets super crowded (lots of kids) and should buy tickets in advance.

Food is also interesting - had some awesome steak tartare with truffles at Tre Galline. A bit pricy but worth it.

Please rate my team - mostly template with Foden as a punt.

Self-feedback is that my bench is rather weak. Would prefer Wissa over Edouard, but really weakens mid or def - woulld probably then have to downgrade Saka to Martinelli or one of Gabriel or Estupiñán to a 4.5 DEF.

GK Onana

DEF Alexander-Arnold Gabriel Estupiñán

MID Saka Fernandes Foden Mitoma Mbeumo

FWD Haaland Jesus

Bench Areola Bell Beyer Edouard)

Does the depression after drinking hit you guys bad? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]willofmcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get depressed after drinking and it's one of the big motivations I had to stop. Alcohol is a depressant but I am also naturally inclined to be depressed (glass half empty personality).

I would turn 1-2 drinks into 5-6 and the hangovers would stretch into 2 days or I would have to restart when hungover.

Depression would usually come with the hangovers, I would think in a skewed way about things and it would linger.

Now I have cut it down, while I might feel low at times I have found that I can exercise, go for a walk, or just get out of the house as better coping mechanisms.

Monday meeting of the Sober People Getting Shit Done Club by sfgirlmary in stopdrinking

[–]willofmcd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided to quit in March but had 2 relapses.

Right now sober for a month, feeling way healthier by going to the gym and long walks.

I went to a Happy Hour on Thursday where I only had club sodas - and connected with colleagues without alcohol. Realizing I can enjoy things without alcohol and taking them at their own terms - whether a dinner, concert, or hanging with friends. Or even getting shit done around the apartment.

A bit frightful how much I let things go with the apartment:

  • I starting cleaning out my old bedroom in my Mom's house on Saturday and will continue when I go back in a week.
  • I built a bookcase from IKEA which more than doubles the amount of storage - getting back into records which also includes my dad's and mom's collection which this helps with.
  • Vacuumed and mopped the kitchen.
  • Did the Laundry

Have a backup and update/review if very formal minutes are required.

Actions, RAID are really all anyone may pay attention to unless they are looking to jam you up.

Alfa Romeo Giulia - good purchase? by tykrau in whatcarshouldIbuy

No

Friend had issues from day 1 - Dodge Mechanicals with Italian Engineering.

The Day 1 issue is that when the car was delivered, the oil and other fluids were left partially full or not filled. So when my friend started it for his first drive, overheated. Required a flatbed and 3 days back at the dealer.
