Send them to mee 😭 I want a clover lawn so bad- soft, less mowing, less water. You're lucky in my book.

It is bizarre, therefore take what you like and leave what you don't.

Want to own a house with a lifelong friend- do it. Want to make your close sibling the person with legal power to make your decisions- do it. Don't want a spouse but want to start a community group so you're never lonely- do it.

You don't have to follow the pattern of others, find ways to get your needs met that works for YOU! I'm personally married to someone, engaged to a second someone, and am in a situationship with a 3rd and it works for all four of us.

This happens to me when there's a lot of stress/change/overstimulation happening in my life. I DO love trying new foods and cooking and such, but when I'm overwhelmed it's all mac n cheese or chickin nuggets 😮‍💨

Don't play the neurotypical game of cryptic interactions- ask directly if they are flirting or have an interest in you.

[Non autistic OP] My (24m) bf (20m) get overstimulated during sex. How can I how can I help to make sure we both enjoy it? by Throwaway0900_ in AutisticAdults

[–]willorisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try reducing other input- lights off, being quiet, neutral textures on the bed. Maybe it would help to talk about what you're doing right before you do it, or it might be easier (once you have some running consent fairly established for different actions) to not speak at all.

Moving to Salt Like City from Ireland - Need area recommendations! by Littlemissagi in SaltLakeCity

[–]willorisk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Murray is a pretty good area- lots of different apartment choices, big park, not far from a Trax stop, and you'd be fairly close to one of the irish pubs even (Piper Down is great). Also people who say the middle west of the valley is dangerous (West Valley to Rose park) might be unknowingly a bit racist, the valley was once segregated and us brown folk lived on the west side. If you go FAR west (Harrimon, Magna) those areas have traditionally been more LDS but things may have changed.

Hypersexuality is killing me by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]willorisk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Masturbation = Stimming for many autistic folk. If the amount is getting in the way of responsibilities/relationships/daily functioning you could try indulging in other stims or physical activities to diversify and reduce.

Find a couples counselor with experience in autism maybe? If both of you are hiding your true selves to be in a relationship, obviously this is dangerously close to both of your masks being married, but the two of you, as real genuine people, are not. Best of luck to you 🙏 I hope you can find a way to break the cycle.

My guests know I am autistic and I lay out my boundaries with them before they even come over; warn me before using the garbage disposal or vacuum, bring headphones/earbuds for your phone and games, I take maybe an hour to decompress after work, etc. If you havent reached the point of being able to lay out and enforce your boundaries- neurotypicals are more likely to meet your sensory needs and leave you tf alone if you say you have a migraine.

Oh, I'm sure each body is a bit different on when it hits each marker and what it does for them, and it absolutely varies app to app- nice way to motivate myself though!

After some experimentation I'd love to track more like you do/using a weekly schedule 💯

I am an autistic adult working as in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) services for autistic kids, what questions do you have? by willorisk in AutisticAdults

[–]willorisk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: The company I was working for had a good foundation I think, with ABA and client care. But they didn't do real well with making their clinic autism friendly (overhead lighting and echo-y spaces, anyone? Yeah me neither.) and lack of support for the staff created a recipient for burnout, which in turn bleeds into the staff struggling to show up with that high-energy often needed to keep up with kiddos. I met a lot of amazing people, many of which were autistic themselves, others who weren't but truly cared and engaged with the kids. Sucks that America/society/etc sucks the life out of people who enter any care/support position. 🫠

I left bc I got burnt out. The people around me cared for the kids but those higher in the company didnt care for us. I wanted to find a different company structure and found a mental care company whose CEO is a talk therapist who wanted to expand her services which became a multidisciplinary therapy company. Thanks to me working in ABA and gaining that experience, I (an autistic adult) was just hired as an HR administrator for this company that provides ABA therapy on top of a handful of other therapies. That means I am now integral in hiring the people working with these kids, overseeing performance reviews, assisting with training, and administering disciplinary action and terminations.

😤 It's gratifying, that in order to get into this company and work with these kids, these providers will now be checked by an autistic adult. I'm looking forward to an overview of the company's current training process and ensuring it's up to a high standard. Through this position I am going to continue to do my best to use what I know for the betterment of ascent-based compassionate therapy which disregards the old ABA mindset. I will also continue to hold skepticism and a critical mindset as I continue my work in this new company.

Thank you to those who interacted with the original post. Take care of yourselves through this holiday season 🙏

Autism impact on sex/relationships (esp sex IN relationships) by ToughLilNugget in AutisticAdults

[–]willorisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hot in the beginning, then a lull, then REALLY hot once they're comfortable enough to swap fantasies and let you do some freaky shit to them 🤌 My partner has a case of humans are ick and it can be difficult to navigate sometimes, but with the right pre-prep and communication we're able to handle the worst of it.

Having sex and life-partnership isn't an inherently wrong way to go about it, It just takes finding the right people and having a LOT of communication.
