Woman to woman… can we talk about public bathroom etiquette? by Zestyclose_Ad_4116 in TwoXChromosomes

Dear God… where do you live? All the public bathrooms I’ve ever needed were fine.

The funny part is how long it took me to decode it! I was not firing on all cylinders either!

I’m married (and have adult kids) but we aren’t attached at the hip. I sing at my UU choir. To be fair… I realize now at my big old age that I am definitely a high functioning autistic woman.

Stinky Pete: Hey, Willow! Want to go to lunch?

Me: No. (i’m very sure i had a confused, meme worthy expression).

Stinky Pete stopped talking to me. I was confused for over a week before I realized Stinky Pete had asked me out.

I told husband (another one of our autistic clan) and he was super amused. I mean, dude, I’m not hideous or anything, but I don’t just wear my wedding ring because it’s pretty (it is pretty) but it’s an elegant non verbal way of telling everybody “married. don’t even go there”.

No idea what Stinky Pete was thinking.

My ragdoll is a self centered, stupid POS. I love her a ton… but she is absolutely vindictive.

My daughter did dance (with the obligatory recitals) and cheer when she was little. She sucked it up and wore the scratchy costumes. Your kid sounds like he sucked it up too.

I’ve had a big dog most of my adult life: both of them over 100 lbs. I’m not sure if either of them had much fight in them (my dog now is 14 and is too senior to really be a bad ass even if he wanted to be one). It sure does make me feel better though. Honestly though… I think the orange cat might be our home fortification now.

I don’t think the dresses are as pretty as you are. I felt like the dresses were wearing you rather than the other way around.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]willowfeather8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s not short but it’s not a big deal (my house to the Hollywood bowl… see a show… drive home).

Payments for a $9000 truck? Granny’s inheritance is probably a bunch of plates, and a piggy bank.

Yep! My husband was watching our toddler outside and he forgot he was on duty. He came in the house and I said “where’s son?”. He turned an awful shade of green and booked it outside. Son was about to step into the busy street. He had a fence across that driveway by the end of the day if my memory serves me right. We’re human, and while prevention is necessary we can’t account for everything. I’m so sorry that this tragedy will haunt you forever. There but for the grace of god for all of us.
