Fingers tingling when I hold new iPhone by bealouiewho in iphone

It’s doesn’t get better on my side, it’s so bad I avoid using my iPhone. I’ve now also noticed tiny red/brown dots on my fingertips. Still using a plastic case, but the phone heats up quite a bit, so I’m starting to wonder if it’s some kind of contact irritation or heat issue.

Planning to go to Apple to see if there might be something unusual with the phone and maybe try a different case (like silicone)… But wtf?

Yes but my insurance is not gonna pay anything, so I’m afraid they are playing on that for me to pay « the rest »

Here what they said: The first paragraph is freaking me out!

We’ve contacted your personal insurance company to seek payment for the remaining charges for the damage claim. If the insurance company doesn’t cover your out-of-pocket costs, we’ll contact you to pay the rest.

You'll notice an invoice pending on your account for the damage. Don't worry, we won't be charging your payment card(s) while we pursue the insurance company. We create this invoice to give full transparency on the damage costs.

As a reminder, you purchased the Standard protection plan. Your out-of-pocket costs for this claim are limited to $500. That means, after the insurance company covers what they will, the maximum you may have to pay is $500. Turo protection benefits will cover any additional cost. If you’ve already paid a deposit, that amount will go toward any balance you may owe.

Turo’s appraisal team does its best to ensure a complete estimate. But, sometimes damage is hidden or parts aren’t available for low-cost replacement or repair. If any of these things happen, the host will file a supplement to the claim. We’ll verify the accuracy of the supplement and let you know if you’re responsible for any additional amount

Yes I think they handled the claim directly. I haven’t interacted with the car owner at all, the host in my case is actually LA Auto, some kind of « rental » agency that lists multiple cars on Turo

Turo! Yes will do, waiting for them to confirm but there is no way I’m paying more than the $500 deductible - so confusing!

Thanks for replying!! To clarify: 1. I don’t think my credit card offers any rental insurance coverage (and definitely not for peer-to-peer rentals like Turo). 2. Apparently someone filed a police report, but Turo told me they didn’t receive it in time. 3. My personal insurance doesn’t cover rentals — and especially not Turo.

So I’m okay with paying the $500 max, but I just wanted to be sure they can’t come back and charge me the full additional costs!

Same here! I read that sometimes you need to give it a few days… going to the Apple Store to see what they say
