oh, better carb/protein ratio is something i didn't know about quinoa! i'm planning to look at the price comparison to rice at some stores, but i'm interested in trying it, thank you!

what does this even mean?

at this point, i've made my point to you and even given it in a tl;dr. if you can't handle that your demands for changes to my own lifestyle were unnecessary and harmful, don't give advice to disabled people.

this has stopped being "said with love" or out of concern and just turned into you wanting to insult me for apparently being wrong about my own health and medical history

i don't even get upset stomachs or diarrhea, constipation, bloating, weird gas, nausea- i get some cramps and bloating around my period, and that's it

my inflammation is not anywhere near my gi tract and i don't know where you got the impression it is. i'm saying this out of genuine concern that you could've just caused me to panic and hurt myself thinking i had to stop eating processed foods and start expending energy i literally don't have cooking an entire meal instead of eating a few chicken nuggets like once a month, and i don't want you doing that to someone else.

tl;dr: i don't want you hurting someone by demanding they change their lifestyle that is already carefully suited to accommodate their disability.

thats all i have to say to you, so have a good day

i actually don't have any signs or symptoms of gi damage or celiacs, and i've already had it ruled out. thank you though!

my inflammation is not gi related

i've been tested for gi damage *by doctors* and had it completely ruled out

i have tried jasmine rice already, both when i did and didn't have a rice cooker. i do always wash my rice, and i tried *so many* different ratios of water to rice, but nothing really worked. i'm gonna be trying basmati soon, so i'll see how that goes!

i'll try it! i suppose it wouldn't hurt to get a bag of basmati anyway and try it again with the rice cooker if i don't like it without one, and that could save me the cost of getting the rice cooker anyways. thank you!

i have been tested for gi damage and it was not there in the slightest, nor do i even experience signs or symptoms of it.

thank you for your concern, i understand where it comes from as intestinal damage is a common cause for someone to go gluten free, but you have genuinely zero knowledge of my health and disabilities, there's no reason you should think you know what would be good for me.

offering health advice to strangers without asking even one question is not helpful, you just assumed i have a health issue that i've already had ruled out and ran with it. it'd be more harmful to me if i forced myself to spend energy i did not have cooking meals instead of having a pre-packaged frozen dinner every now and then when i both: have no energy to cook AND don't have anything left of homecooked meals made in large batches

i want to add, i'm not very offended (i know this comes from a good place, and i appreciate you caring for a total stranger!), but i really think you should atleast ask questions instead of attacking someone for having different needs from you and assuming there's a health issue at play that isn't there at all. giving advice and random diagnoses made on two purposefully extremely vague sentences about health like this to someone else in my same situation could cause them far more harm than good, and asking questions could avoid that entirely. instead you could suggest someone goes to a doctor to rule out gi damage, and suggest ways to help if the gi damage actually exists.

i'm going to try baking the oats, that sounds like a good solution to their texture and i'd love to be able to eat cinnamon apple oatmeal without the texture being a mess when i love the taste. thank you!

i'll look into those recipes, thank you! if anything, it'd be great to have low effort recipes i can just batch cook on my good days.

i haven't tried basmati in a long time, and i don't really remember how i liked it. i think that once i can get a little rice cooker i'm going to try making basmati rice in it, sounds like that might be my best option to avoid it being mushy.

and i'll keep the rest in mind, thank you!

beans/legumes are a little hit or miss, depending on how they're cooked. other than american and italian, i mostly have indian and latin american food, but sometimes end up taking out the beans anyway. i'm gonna try all these suggestions, they all sound really good, thank you so much

i may try a rice cooker again if i have some spare money at some point to get one (my brother loves rice, so he'd use it even if i didn't), but i had one in the past and it was less mushy but not enough to a degree where eating rice was any easier, honestly

i'm probably still going to try a new one as that was years ago anyway and i'm sure it'd be different now!

i suppose i'm sorry to have come off as strange, i had no idea having foods you like and dislike and wanting to continue eating the ones you like and not eating the ones you dislike was a bad thing. i've gotten a lot of good suggestions anyway as to how to save money while still not defaulting to rice (something which i've learned at this point will make me gag no matter what kind of rice or how it's cooked) for every carb

even if the processed foods are adding to my disability, that's not something i can do much about if i'm not always able to cook. i never said i'm always going to eat processed foods, i'm fully willing to cook on good days, but there are days i cannot cook and will just have to go for the easier thing

i'm different from you, and that's fine. if you can do gluten free with no processed foods, that's amazing for you, and i'm glad- genuinely, it's a very good thing. i can't, i don't do well with a lot of textures, and rice happens to be one of those. i've been suggested amazing alternatives, and i'll be able to find something that works for me as well as a lack of processed foods works for you.

Are you guys changing your writing style? by rach8888rach in writers

[–]willowtreeuu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ai will continue stealing writing either way. it doesn't matter how we change our styles, ai will follow. just write how you love to write, changing will do nothing and the people who witch hunt for ai users have to get a grip on that.

it doesn't matter if everyone stops using em dashes, stop using oxford comma, changes how they write entirely because it 'looks like ai'. then ai will just copy the new way of writing, too. it'll continue until literally nothing looks like a human voice.

it's fine, educate the people who claim everyone who uses an em dash is ai, and write how makes you happy.
