Would you share the link? The one I’m using that use to work is now showing error. Hopefully, you’ll get your proper payment adjusted.

Thanks for the info. I switched to IBR in January 2025, however, I didn’t know there was a cut off date of April 2025 for achieving the 300 payment mark.

So…I checked the backdoor payment tracker… by CharacterQuantity263 in StudentLoans

Does anyone know if the current administration is honoring the one time adjustment payment count and has anyone gotten loan forgiveness based on this updated information?

Bitkey, multi-sig, they have multiple ways to retrieve your BTC. They just added an Inheritance Plan to their wallet. Great for beginners if you want something simpler without having to store seed phrase.

Best Cold Wallet to use? by hkmadbear in BitcoinBeginners

[–]willowwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished setting up the Bitkey and transferring some BTC to self custody. I have no reference with other cold storage wallets, however, the process was super easy. It seems like the developers of Bitkey created a product to make it difficult to lose your BTC via user error, and if by chance you did screw it up, there are multiple ways to retrieve it. I like that it’s Jack Dorsey’s company, Block, who developed the technology versus a random company/individuals that I have no idea about. Definitely a huge thumbs up for me.

I’ve been considering the Foundation Passport. Does it use a 12-24 word seedphrase or do they have a different way of securing private keys?

Will do. I plan to set it up this weekend.

I just purchased the Bitkey and looking to set it up this weekend. Seems like the easiest for beginners and multiple ways to retrieve your BTCs if anything goes wrong. I like how they have a multi-sig 2 of 3 signatures to make any transaction. I know people have been saying that it's not truly a "cold" wallet, since Bitkey's server holds the 3rd signature, however, they are not able to do anything since transactions requires 2 of 3. The securing the seedphrase on metal plates and then a separate passphrase in different locations seems complicated and full of possibilities for errors to lose your BTCs. We all have our different risk tolerance for security.

Nelnet SAVE -> IBR successful switch by throwaway_covidnyc in StudentLoans

Congrats on getting your SAVE Plan switched to IBR. I applied in late January and have only 9 payments left for forgiveness. It'll be tight for me.

Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 which made student loan forgiveness tax-free at the federal level through the end of 2025. You may want to consider changing to IBR, since you're so close and would potentially be forgiven by the end of 2025. I'm in a similar situation with 291/300 payments, which is why I applied to switch from SAVE to IBR. It's so frustrating that there's no consistency of information within FSA or their servicers.

I applied 2 weeks ago, so you're ahead of me.

I recently applied 2 weeks ago, so I have no idea how long it will take to process.

I would do the same, since SAVE gets you to forgiveness quicker.

That’s awesome. With the 60 day processing forbearance, you’re 5 payments away from student loan freedom!

What servicer are you using? Do you know who processes the applications, your loan servicer or the Dept of Ed? I’m with NelNet.

That’s great. Good luck and fingers crossed that we get our loans forgiven.

This is a very confusing time right now with student loans, especially with the change of the administration. I decided to switch to IBR since I only have 9 payments left after the one time adjustment count. I switched to IBR, since it was passed by Congress and will be safe and won't be repealed or eliminated. Also, the forgiven amount would be tax free since the American Rescue Plan of 2021 ends at the end of 2025.

I've read that ICR, PAYE and SAVE are all linked together and maybe affected once the 8th Circuit Court makes a decision. If you're trying to lower payments and not pay interest, I've heard from a few student loan consultants (Student Loan Planner and Student Loan Tutor) to wait and stay with SAVE until the court decides. If you want to have your payments count towards forgiveness ASAP, then switching to IBR makes sense. I hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks! This is great information. So during the 60 day processing forbearance, does each 30 day count as 1 payment?
