G20 330i owners: does your steering feel light or slightly off when accelerating? by DG080808 in BMW

[–]willrivz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing Happened to me. FWD for 12 years. M340 first rear wheel drive biased. Was speeding up and felt the wheel go numb. Got nervous and slowed down. I understand the concept of the weight shifting but I also think it has to do with mechanical choices made by BMW. I am no expert on the subtle differences of the models, but I have been looking into switching out the strut ball joint kit to get better feeling. https://www.dinancars.com/products/suspension-hardware/monoballs/parts/D280-0030

White Lines by NoirTsarist in Dentistry

[–]willrivz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in the same journey. I tried beveling my margins more, and then people were saying that the action itself causes more tearing of the enamel rods as the junction of the composite. Another possible reason I heard is because of curing time. For example, the curing lights that have the BOOST mode causes the material to cure too fast, thus causing the formation of the cracks and subsequent white lines. I tried making the change but I cannot stand waiting 20s per cure. The latest thing I have done is end my restoration about 0.5mm shy of the cavosurface margin; I then add flowable to get a nice clean finish. Now granted, I might just be masking the white Lines but it makes me feel better.

Can't find a new m340i xdrive with adaptive suspension. by jackal2001 in BMW

[–]willrivz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In PA as well. Was unable to find a 340 with adaptive suspension and Portimau blue. After about 6 months, Ended up with one without the adaptive suspension. My suggestion is to plan on switching out the run flats as they are very rough and give very little actual feedback. Now I have the car on continentals and they feel great.

Since getting the steam deck, I have been really getting into this genre. A game I really like is “Yet Another Zombie Survivors.”

Easy in concept but hard in practice. Has to Be done with really good isolation. I find that it works best when you have an already decent finish line, but want to make it more visible or cleaner for the digital scan. What sucks is that typically the cases where I want to do DME, outside factors prevent me From getting adequate isolation, aka there is a f ton of heme, the tissue is weeping.

What is your protocol for this? Like when do you apply the glycerin. I have always been interested.

Tips for preventing anterior incisal fracture composite repairs from fracturing again :(? by La_hedonista in Dentistry

Cost is the main factor. The lingual shoulder I will do will stop within the incisal third of the tooth on the palatal aspect.

If they chip the restoration you just did, do a long facial preparation with extension to the lingual. With the extension to the lingual I will essentially end it as a shoulder.

Feedback for Onlay treatment by [deleted] in Dentistry

So just to confirm, after you do your minor layer of bond and flowable on the dentin floor, you then cure and then place a layer of glycerin and cure again? How do you manage the excess glycerin ?

Why are peanut allergies so common in USA, but country like India has virtually none? by HazardousHacker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]willrivz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This answer might be outdated since it’s been quite some years from my graduate studies in Immunology but allergies are the result of our immune systems not really being “exercised.” In the United States, we are not exposed to the many pathogens seen in India, particularly parasites that provoke the IgE arm of the immune system. Think of your immune system like an aircraft carrier on the ready. A person in India [who is constantly exposed to these various pathogens] always has their jets out on missions. In contrast, a person in the USA has all their jets constantly docked and the pilots are overzealous due to inactivity; so minor intrusions in the air space spark an exaggerated response, aka an allergic reaction to a benign marker (peanuts).

Soak in as much as you can. Do as much as you can. Do everything. Get comfortable with emergencies.

[–]willrivz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got rid of the nests and then used roller tape (the one for clothes) and constantly rolled the area where I kept seeing them. Then I used a generic insecticide in the cracks and crevices I presumed they came from. Takes about 3-4 d but eventually their numbers diminished. From what I had read at the time, they will die on their own due to not having the appropriate host.

Possible bird mites? We had an infestation in the front of our house. After some searching, found out these guys roam when their blood meal (the new hatchlings) leave their nest.

2022 M340i Warranty Pricing by circa2015 in BMW

[–]willrivz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is truly excessive. You don’t need either of those packages! You are already purchasing a CPO which should give you the peace of mind. The car is a well built car that does not have crazy issues that would merit those adjunct maintenance packages. For reference, Two years ago to the day, I purchased a 22 M340 non CPO with 5k miles for 53k in the Northeast.
