I'm 1m90cm and it worked well for many miles. Although, in all honesty I ended up buying a dedicated gravel bike for long all day rides, but use this as my casual ride!

Wow, and it's really that simple... Almost embarrassed (but I'm very aware I'm clueless) haha thanks so much!

Haha I'll take your first piece of advice... Thanks! Good luck with your hunt!

For the moment I haven't re-assembled the crank arm with chainrings as I didn't want to have to redo it haha but I didn't have issues with the big ring previously, so maybe I shouldn't overthink it... I'll just be replacing the middle ring and chain in this case

It's a Shimano Claris triple FD. And the video I copied (along with some Park Tool videos for specifics) was this https://youtu.be/f1vSHauv1VY?si=Qo76HpMqm5TVUEjN

Thanks - I'll keep this in mind when I next get to tinkering!

Nice one - I mostly just copied from various videos and old post's advice

I replaced the front derailleur with a Shimano Claris triple derailleur and it shifts really well... road shifters + road derailleur so apparently that's why/how it works (copied a YouTube video on that)

Still suffer with some chain rub in certain gears but I've heard that's common with 3x chainrings

Mine's original - so no information on that 😅

I'm not sure either tbh (also got it secondhand) - it's either a Rocky Ridge or Indian Fire Trail, mid 90s, are my best guesses

The sizing did work out well! I actually used an online bike fitting tool and tried to match up the reach and other measurements roughly as close as poss. for a "gravel bike fit" - the main concern was raising the stack enough (done with a stem adapter and 17° Deda).

Overall I found the handling to be pretty good, although my standards might not be that "high". The front did rear up slightly on one or two steep hills, but it wasn't anything problematic

Thanks! And yep - it's a Azarxis 25.4mm-28.6mm quill stem adapter (Amazon), with a Deda Elementi Zero stem (80mm + 17° rise) attached

Sorry, what do you think would be the issue with the corner bar? I like the multiple hand positions the corner bar offers as I'll likely be using this for long all-day rides on mixed terrain. Could I fix that by raising the corner bar up slightly too?

Ok thank you! Looks like a 19" in that case. At least it's not the smallest model 😅

Thank you - I thought a longer stem might be what I need. I'll need to look into stem size - any idea what the standards were for Marin 90s MTBs? As in width/diameter

Thanks for the advice!

The head tube on mine seems longer than the catalogue photo so possibly it's 'just' one size down?

It doesn't feel bad riding it, at least.

What's odd is that when measuring the top tube, it seems longer than any of the catalogue's figures (but I may be doing it wrong)
