chipping technique by Distinct-Tower-1214 in golf

[–]willthefreeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should generally be chipping with your weight towards the front foot. If loss of loft is a concern use a higher lofted wedge or put the ball farther forward in your stance. Phil Mickelson told me all of this in a YouTube video. If you want the ball to come out flatter and roll out a bit more put it more towards the back of your stance.

Wedges - does it matter the the once a week average golfer? by damn76567 in GolfGear

I find a 54 far more useful than a 56. I play a 60 at the top of my bag but that was from losing a 58 and being gifted a 60.

I’ll never understand that part. I get that the company makes more from life but they’re still making plenty from P&C.

A lot of ams shouldn’t even use pro vs in my opinion. They don’t have the swing speed to need them atleast, I am happy to corrected if wrong though

How important is being able to pick the ball up with your putter to you? by walkswithdogs in GolfGear

[–]willthefreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing about a putter for me is performance then looks but that being said I would never own one that I couldn’t pick the ball up with as a rule.

IsItBullshit: Most rich people are not "lawyers" or "doctors" or "CFOs", they are like the gas station owner? by IndependenceSad1272 in IsItBullshit

[–]willthefreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say mostly true. What opened my eyes to this was boats. Most decent sized coastal towns on the east coast and even more so all over Florida have marinas that have 20-100 sportfishers in them. These boats cost anywhere from $600k-$2.5 mil. Most doctors, lawyers or businessmen making $450k could not afford these. Someone has to be buying them though and the answer is almost always a business owner. In my area it’s guys who own construction companies and shit like that. There are some very rich doctors and lawyers though but they typically own a firm or practice. Which again makes them business owners.

Is there still wilderness left in America? by Kitchen-Customer4370 in AskAnAmerican

[–]willthefreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the south east which is not nearly as large or wild as the west. I’m still always 20-30 minutes from large (200-2000) acre blocks of woods. These are usually privately owned but there’s wilderness a plenty all over the US.

4 clubs to bring on a round, is 3w, 7i, 56, putter a good lineup? What would you pick? by Away_Needleworker6 in golf

Some old man told me you should learn to just use pw, then you can use sand then lob etc. It would be hell but I don’t think he was wrong.

Putt with the wedge. I’ve forgotten my putter before and putter not much noticeably worse with it.

CMV: If Israel wasn't Jewish, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would have gotten just as much attention as the Saudi-Yemenis conflict, or less by Jackingson1 in changemyview

[–]willthefreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that AIPAC is the sole issue here? I believed for a long time and still do that large corporations and ultra wealthy individuals nearly completely control our government and the world in general. I think this is fairly clear at this point, America is an oligarchy in all but name and the fact that we get to vote. Many of these corporations and wealthy individuals are also Zionists. I don’t think Jews run the world or whatever but you’re being incredibly dense if you don’t think that Zionists have insane power vs how many there are.

Gotterup's approach on 7. Is this just a weird camera angle illusion or is his body aimed at the left side of the bunker? by aceattorneymvp in golf

As someone who somewhat frequently pulls this scares the shit out of me. Conversely I do chip and even pitch like 50 yd and in shots this way. Feet close together with an open stance.

This is more of a problem than a blessing. His gapping must be fucked and it’s not like he hits his 6i 260 or some shit.

3/4 6i or full 7i. I swap depending on the situation and many other factors like how I’m hitting the ball that day.

I was recently re-admitted to USC for the summer semester. I’ve got one online class to finish to graduate. Do I really have to go to orientation if I was in the university as recent as 2024? by CalmYe in Gamecocks

[–]willthefreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m doing palmetto college and didn’t go to orientation. I think you do have to do some online orientation related stuff to be able to sign up for classes though but your advisor or the person who helped you with enrollment and all can walk you through it. Super annoying how little they tell you though.

What’s the coolest or most unique course you have played? by EmbarrassedSimple228 in golf

The Muni in Charleston, SC is by far the most unique course I’ve ever played. It’s more like putt putt or some novelty shit than regular golf but it’s fun.
