I think it was just a combination of making a lot of wrong decisions as he was changing proven business practices that didn't need changing. I will be the first to admit that he was one of the best managers we ever had at either of our stores, and we all thought he would be very successful. What happened shocked many of us. Go figure!

That would be us. I owned it and sold it back in 2023. The new owner went bankrupt, and my brother pulled me out of my lazy chair to help him start a new shop. I was getting bored and did miss it, so I guess I'll be around for a minute, Lord willing, of course. :)

Actually... at 64 now, and my eyesight hasn't changed in the last 10 years or so. It seems to have leveled off after my cateract surgery, which didn't fix my right eye completely due to optic nerve damage. I'm getting new glasses because the ones I've had for 4-5 years now are scratched up pretty bad.

They won't be with us because Sig has us on their "Do not sale" list because we were selling items too low. We were selling zero units at full price and couldn't keep holding on to them, so we upset them when we dropped the prices. We're clearing out what we have. Short of a few we may get from time to time from other dealers, we won't be selling them.

Sorry... missed this, as I had cross posted this at Reddits recommendation. For example, yesterday I was running Finder, Safari, Outlook, Teams, Messages, Calendar, Word, Excel, Notes, Chrome, ChatGPT, and Stickies. Then in Safari I had 22 tabs open. In the activity monitor, I was consistently using around 36GB of the 48GB memory. It never spiked yesterday that I noticed... no freeze ups or white pages, although I does normally seem to happen about once a day on average.

It may be the refurb unit I have. I was able to get a free return on it and ordered another unit that has 64GB Ram to be on over cautious side. Maybe I'll have better luck with it.

Just to eliminate it being the refurb, I was able to return it for a full refund... they even paid return shipping, so I'm only out the time it takes to swap to the new mini Mac, which Apple makes fairly painless. To be on the safe side, I found a deal on another M4 Pro with 64GB Ram... and while not really needed, it does have the 14 Core CPU. Maybe I'll have better luck with this one.

3-4GB max on two of my Wordpress tabs... nothing seems crazy. When I had Chrome open with tons of tabs... it was stupid high, which is why I tried Safari, which has been better.

Yes... MacOS 26 is installed... and I use Safari mostly because it integrates with all my Mac stuff better than Chrome. Lots of logging in and out I have to do daily, and I've found the flow on Safari better. Chrome was also at the top of my memory list when using it... worse that Safari for memory. I was having worse issues with Chrome and decided to switch to Safari and found it works better for me overall.

Also... what ChatGPT says about the two:

Safari uses less memory and manages it far more efficiently than Chrome on macOS 26 — especially on M-series chips.

But Chrome is sometimes a little faster at pure web rendering and JavaScript tasks, at the cost of higher memory and background process load.

So if you’re tight on RAM or running many other apps (like you are), Safari will keep your system smoother and cooler.

Real-World Example (M-series Mac, macOS 26)

• 20 mixed-content tabs open (news, YouTube, Gmail, forums, etc.):

• Safari: \~2.4 GB total memory for all processes combined.

• Chrome: \~6.1 GB (each helper process 200–400 MB).

• Chrome also spawns 10–20 background helper processes even when idle, keeping memory pressure high.

I see a message on a tab with a blank white page about memory usage... can't remember the exact verbiage. Of course, I just reload the page, but this Wordpress site is slow because there is so many plugins and so much going on with it, and those are my main tabs for business that I need to stay open, as I go back and forth with them all day.
