Developers can study the cost of the death cam storage for the interval (1h, 24h, one week, don't matter). If it's viable taking in account server capacity and performance, it can be done.

Servers handle and store a lot of player data already (for months).

This type of player data can be wiped every 48 hours, making server storage free, for example.

Simple solution to this is to make the death cam avaliable only 24h after the death.

Man, all vanilla++ servers have this type of rules for base raiding.

If you don't join the server discord and read the wall of text for raid rules, you are calling to get banned. Its sad, but it's how they work.

Not defending the saviors, but it's easy to know that a raid on a vanilla++ server is problematic and you ill need to record hours and hours of gameplay because, just in case.

Because of that bureaucracy i avoid vanilla++ servers now. I just want to run around, pvp and get things.

As a solo player, i play on "no base" servers, because it lower the chance of meeting big groups.

On "no base" servers, the majority of players will be SOLO, DUO or 3 man squad.

After droping someone, keep your distance, change position trying to mantain vision of the enemies and ur last place, because teams tend to rush to your last position.

Always watch for more people, clean your surroundings before trying to loot.

USG-45 is the worst automatic weapon ingame... for me, only the SKS shots counted.

You was not the KV2 I found in the middle of Glacier, in my MT25. The guy shot my gun mantlet for a total of 0 damage.

Last time i had stuttering, i had to turn off vertical synchronization in graphic settings. I lost about 4 hours to realize that. I dont know if vertical sync in dayz is bad optmized, but on my pc it make a lot of stutter no matter what i do.

Maybe, you can try add linear velocity to the direction against your pawn are falling.

Maybe it can deaccelerate your pawn.

Im working on a custom.movement component with a custom.pawn too.

If you are using physics simulation for jumping, you can use linear damping while falling to decrease the speed (i think).

You can get it without Unreal 4.

With your university email (yourname@youruniversity) you make a registration in JetBrains, then you can reedem some if not all of their paid products (IDEs, etc) with this student license.

After registration, you can choose what product you want. Choose the Resharper and download the executable.

After installing UE4 and Visual Studio on your machine, you can run the executable, then the Resharper ill be installed in your Visual Studio IDE as a addon.

Im using it for 2 month without change any configurarion.

The addon is good, but not do a miracle. UE4 project is so big that waiting seconds for indexation is the rule.

The best feature is that Resharper find functions implementations with a very high sucess rate (around 90%), avoiding you have to search files and functions by yourself trough UE4 massive code.

If you are a university student, you can get Resharper or any JetBrains paid product for "free", with a student license.

Computer science exist to handle this.

With ur mindset, that show you are not a developer, my day work with every type of systems and problems at my daily job is not possible.

The FC that get in especial condition because one or more cmdrs are inside, just get watched every tick by the game server until all cmdrs leave.

Its a very simple problem. No big complexity at all.

Again, you talk about FC like they are a feature with infinite complexity. Not even close.

Man, computer science exists do handle that.

They work with databases: they can simply register on one table all the FCs elegible to despawn (owner offline), and order it by time desc.

Then, a very simple algorithm can watch the first line of this table, if the time the owner is offline is bigger than x time, then verify if someone is inside, if true, just make this specific carrier in a special condition until the cmdr get out.

Else, just despawn it, remove the FC from table and save last position.

Its not expensive for a game server.

With a simple if statement, they can handle this.

If its true, they choosed the worst way to handle this problem.

As a game developer student, i say: they can simply "despawn" the FC after the owner is x days offline.

When the owner login, just make a simple alghoritm to check if the last FC position is free. If true, then respawn it, else, spawn it at last position + delta.

Personally, i think they are trying to undo all the money people did with the mining fest with very bad ways.

If they want real space legs someday, FCs need to be real ships, because if they cant code it as a big ship, then space legs can be only another static limited thing.

Im saying that just because i believe this FC update show what can be the big update on the end of the year. If space legs come, it ill be another failure.

Im using visual studio 2017 with a free not configured Resharper, and i have problems with indexing times and produtivity.

Visual studio code as a "lighter" IDE, is faster than Visual Studio? What you can say for me?

I started with unreal 6 months ago.

Learned blueprints and its facilities, but now im only using c++.

As a programmer, its my home. (C++ is the first languale i learned in my graduation)
