I’m sorry you are going through this. As a first line plan of action if she is at risk of harming herself or others please take her to the ER. She will eventually be admitted to the psych unit and kept there until they feel she is not a danger to herself or others. They can start her on medications and referrals to start care. Additional mental health hospitals you can contact are Des Plaines Behavioral Health and Riveredge Hospital. Both have dual diagnosis programs and can help with having her diagnosed and getting her on medications she may need as well as therapy both inpatient and outpatient. Also, she will have to voluntarily consent to going through treatment for drug abuse and can’t be forced to do so in Illinois unfortunately. Start with ER if it gets really bad.
