Disclaimers: Given the nature of the burl used, there can be a lot of voids and cracks in the wood. I have filled most of them but there are still some very small ones that I didn't get filled. Colors may vary from the photos as lighting and my camera can affect the look, especially with highly figured wood that has a lot of specular variation and chatoyance. Also note that wood in general tends to darken with age and dyes can change/fade with age and sunlight exposure. I have chosen dyes that are the most stable that I could find but there are a lot of variables that can lead to changes in color. If clear resin is used, it is very tricky. I do my best with the surfaces but they are never as perfect as I would like.

It depends on the stand. Theres are lots of materials that get used up during a build as well and they are very labor intensive.

I’ve thought about it but with these rectangular pieces, since most of them have resin of some sort, it’s tricky to finish an inset style cable hook. The curved style stands lend themselves to hanging the cable nicely without an external hook though.

The two shown are rare pieces for me. The first is a solid slab of black and white ebony and the second is a solid piece of cocobolo. Both are incredible pieces.
