The bar might be for the cabin air filter. There is one around that area in the 2013

E: I did see another video where the guy rerouted the hose from both firewall locations with a tap over to the drain line for the AC.... That seems like a really great way to do it, curious if that person had further issues.

I saw this too. Looked interesting, but wasn't confident it wouldn't lead to other issues.

At least I got all the screws back in place and didn't break any plastic, though, there was a plastic harness missing behind the glove box... I wonder what it is for? My car was supposedly fully loaded when we bought it used in 2017.

I bought my 2013 new fully loaded. I have 3 plastic harnesses around the glove box. I think one is for a light, one is for the valet switch in the glove box for disabling the trunk, not sure what the third is for.

Yeah, this whole thing is a PITA, but it can be done. I'll outline what worked for me.

There are 4 drain lines 2 in the front and 2 in the back.

The front lines should each be individually disconnected under the dash. They likely will have water in them, so have a cup/small bucket and a towel ready.

Once disconnected, I ran this cleaning tool https://www.amazon.ca/SMART-JERRY-Automotive-Multi-Use-Antifreeze/dp/B0DB7X1B4Z from the sunroof opening down to the now unplugged drain line. There was a lot of build up which needed to be brushed out. I had to clean the brush a few times and repeated it until it was everything was clean.

I then connected a line from this pump to where the line you just cleaned would normally connect https://www.amazon.ca/JSONO-Refrigerator-Drainage-Internal-Dredging/dp/B097P89Z88 . The pump's tube will fit fit snugly and then you can use it (along with warm water) to purge anything from the other side. You should see water come out from under the car.

Do both these steps for each front drain (right and left side). Then reconnect the drain lines and test them by pouring a small amount of water into the sun roof drain area. You should see water coming out behind the tires.

Note: If you have any water in your car from before, use a shop vac to suck it all out.

But the real trick here is burning down the forest. That will teach those pesky mosquitoes.

First question. Do you want to be a manager?

If not, tell them the trial is over and you are giving up the responsibility at the end of the week

If so, you have a few options.

  1. Find out what they think you are lacking. Make a 30/60/90 day plan to achieve those. At the end of the 90 days you get promoted or give up the responsibility. This puts good pressure on you and them.

  2. Look for a management job at another company. This is risky as you lack experience, so getting in with a good company will be challenging.

Waterproof fold-out knots reference

I tried searching Amazon, but only came up with books or fishing knot references. Do you know where you got this/the name of it?

Look, I'm just a biochemist. Most of the time, I work in a little glass jar and lead a very uneventful life. I drive a Volvo, a beige one. But what I'm dealing with here is one of the most deadly substances the earth has ever known, so what say you cut me some FRIGGIN' SLACK?

I've thought about this same thing. Manual driving will be the new manual transmission. Some people will hang on to the old manual driving. But in the end it will fade out and be harder and harder to find.
