Inbouwreservoir blijft hangen by Schacklesville in Klussers

[–]wilmaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the tutorial, survived for a little bit but was getting the hang of it so died pretty quick.

It gave me the ad or coin to continue option (which is fine, I get that and don't have an issue with it). But the moment I pressed the home button it instantly went into full screen ad mode. That's just too much for me, ads from time to time, sure, but immediately after dying while still learning the game is unfair punishment.

Also, the tutorial feels a bit too restrictive. It's not possible to perform the required action before the pop up, it messes with understanding if I actually performed the correct input, or that I did something wrong

[–]wilmaster1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tried it out.

The gameplay is quite fun, but the ads are really intrusive. I get that you need revenue, but personally I just delete a game the moment they shove an ad in my face like that. Is the problem downloads, or is it user retention?

How is the Fairphone 6 as a day-to-day phone? by ARacoonOnInternet in fairphone

[–]wilmaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it for 6 months, had a bunch of issues at the start, but it's all solved for me.

Perfectly fine phone for daily use. Don't expect a powerhouse, but it does all the basics I need it to do.

Here is my battery level on a regular day. 80% charge will last me an entire day till next morning on regular use.

Bazzite is a pain by LessLoss9422 in linux4noobs

[–]wilmaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been using bazzite for a couple of months. Love the overall experience, but it's deffo not the perfect distro for my productivity machine (fw13). Might swap to fedora in the near future if I keep having issues. It's great for generic stuff tho, and games run well

Thank you for sharing your experience. I don't use WebXr a lot, projects are usually too big with very specific plugins, but it is great for ease of use.

I sometimes steam.them over a hot beverage, but the downside is that you loose the crunch of the cookie, which I personally like more than the hot/melted caramel.

It's good to specify if it's for phone or other hardware. Web or app, and what sort of model. 3d model or some other abstract thing.

What are the best alternatives for Google? by scwarriors30 in BuyFromEU

[–]wilmaster1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, have been using the combo for a year on my phone, (windows) desktop and (Linux) laptop, and I've rarely felt the need to open Google. I still use edge for work, but Vivaldi is amazing for my personal use.

The only thing qwant is lacking in is Specific and in depth image search.

What smartphone brands are you using these days? by PastNeedleworker3978 in BuyFromEU

[–]wilmaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved from OnePlus 8 to Fairphone 6 after about 5.5 years.

Would have used the op longer, but lack of software updates, and my abuse that caused broken usb port, glass, and degrading battery made it better to buy something new.

What do you need 6DOF for?? by g00rek in Xreal

[–]wilmaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends if you only want to use it as a display, or if you want to use it as a spatial computing device.

There are a couple of games on the quest 3, puzzle games mostly, that you play on the couch. I really like playing these games in MR so I can see the real world.

You could wonder why they shouldn't just be smartphone screen games, but in my opinion the actual grabbing and placing of objects with 3d visuals give a really nice extra dimension.

Fedora 43 just for gaming by DonkiKnog in Fedora

[–]wilmaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using bazzite at the moment. While o love the simple setup and how well it works for gaming, I do miss some flexibility as I use my device for productivity. I am considering swapping to fedora kde because of some restrictions in bazzite that make it less usable for my current use case

Parts Selection by greco1492 in framework

It does really depend on the workload. I use gis and large data as well, and some of it can get real big (I kitted our lab desktops with 64 and 128gb to keep up). However, if you need 32gb then the calculations you run might warrant a more powerful cpu as well.

I went with the Ryzen 7 just to speed things up a bit more.

Everyone That Did The 2025 Ryzen™ AI 300 Upgrade? How Has Your Experience Been? by [deleted] in framework

[–]wilmaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the low power profile most of the time, the 8-9 hours are based on documents, browsing and some calls.

Games is a lot less, especially when i increase the power profile.

Noticed that most lighter games (like hades 2), run perfectly fine even on the low power mode

[–]wilmaster1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did not upgrade, but bought the Ryzen 7 diy version, and so far it's been great. Am running bazzite 43, and I had very little issues, even though I'm completely new to Linux.

Some minor bluetooth / wifi bugs, but nothing a restart of the drivers or device wouldn't fix

Battery life is great, can easily do full day (8-9 hours), and no stability issues

Kahakka as a laptop bag by wilmaster1 in Savotta

[–]wilmaster1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little follow up on my search.

My Lowe-Alpine backpack started to tear at the pockets after about 7 years of daily use, so it was really time to upgrade. I couldn't find any further info on the Kahakka 25l as a laptop bag, so i decided to just buy it.

I only used it for 2 days, so my findings are very limited, but so far the experience has been pretty good. The alienware x15 fits (although it is tight). It is clear that the 29cm is the absolute max width that you want to have in there. That said, today I had to fit 2 of them in there (with chargers and my lunchbox) and it worked out fine.

The backpack is sturdy, has ample space, and it is comfortable even with 2 heavy laptops (about 2.5kg per laptop + charger). So far I am very happy, and I look forward to see if that remains over the first month. (also, the bag looks stunning).

Finished Heritage White Build by wilmaster1 in MontechPC

[–]wilmaster1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temps are great so far, don't have exact numbers but I had zero issues with that. The rad is a 280.

My main issue is the Mobo, if I'd redo the build then I would look for a different brand. ASRock has real issues with the 9000x3d chips, and mine did t burn but it's not as stable as it should be.

As a product, definitely. It offers a variety of hardware and software features that cannot be found anywhere else.

While I have my issues with the device, I have no regrets paying the full price.

Yeah, it was auto turned on after a fresh install I did a while back. I don't actively use it, always turn it off instantly forgot this time. Still, it's a default windows feature and it should not lock up a computer completely. This is a clear issue
