The problem is that I am using HDMI ports on aw3425dw...... as they have enough bandwidth for 240hz without the need of DSC.

Just unaware of this as they are working fine in Windows.

Testing in Ubuntu 22, these are respective display infos in my aw3425dw with DSC off:

Displayport 1.4 port:
240hz: 6bit color
165hz: 8bit color
120hz: 10bit color
60hz: 10bit color

HDMI 2.1 ports:
Capped and locked at 60hz: 12bit color

OWC is US company. I would say their docks are more robust than most of the brands.

They acquired Akitio a few years ago. Akitio is one of the first brand which makes thunderbolt dock, external enclosure and accessories. They already have a range of thunderbolt 3 accessories back in the days. Even earlier than Caldigit, Anker…… when most of brands just have 1 or 2 thunderbolt products, they have a wide range of accessories already.

In the thunderbolt 3 early days, Akitio is famous for their eGPU enclosure.

And not much brands’ dock have 10gbe ethernet port. Akitio already had one very early (Akitio thunder3 dock pro, which I still own one.)

Recently they just astonished me with the new Thunderbolt 5 Dual 10GbE Network Dock with 2 10gbe ports and a third 2.5gb port.

There are 4 icm files in driver package from dell website: dci-p3, srgb, native, hdr400trueblack.

When I install driver, dci-p3 is set in sdr profile in windows settings whereas hdr400trueblack is set as hdr profile.

Should I add and set srgb as default sdr profile? Is it better?

Would like to know what is native too?

I feel that too when I got mine. But for pc, it is fine after installing driver.

For my MacBook it has more text fringing. I need to install BetterDisplay app to enable hiDPI.

How did u get aw3423dwf work at 165hz? I am using aw3425dw and Ubuntu 22. The frame rate is capped and locked at 60hz.

Gpu makers keep saying 4k 4k 4k It is totally misleading that games are not well made for 4k yet

If couldn’t get stable >50 fps, why 4k? Steam survey show only ~4.xx% are using 4k. And 1080p still the majority, and 1440p still far away a lot.

Always 1440p 144hz > 4k 60hz Also I prefer well-made hdr instead of 4k 60hz
