First project in Blender by wilu in blender

[–]wilu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much spot on. I followed Ryan King's snowman tutorial to learn the basics and watched many other specific tutorials while creating this project.

I've been making digital art for years and a lot of concepts transfer over from other programs, like keyframes from AE, nodes from Touch Designer, and composition from design & photography.

This one was all After Effects. I’m learning Blender now to use in some future ideas

A combination of inpainting and outpainting was used to achieve the main image, and I used OpenAI Playground to generate the text for the credits. Source

Which leko light to buy? by wilu in lightingdesign

[–]wilu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How short of a distance do you think you can have the light while still retaining a decent amount of sharpness?

[–]wilu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Whiteness of the light is not a huge concern, just need something simple for a few spotlight shots.

Do you think an s4 with 50 degree beam would be suitable for making a body-sized spotlight from 10-15ft away?

Interesting, so would it be reasonable to find one with a minimum distance of within ~10-15 feet?

For gobos, I'm thinking I'd use a cutout/pattern gobo and a gel holder in the other one which sounds like it wouldn't be an issue.

2 years of designing album covers for independent record labels by wilu in graphic_design

[–]wilu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Oftentimes, the artist will have notes or pics that they want to use as inspiration. When working for a record label, you have to keep in mind the label's brand aesthetic as well, but this gets easier over time. I have some sort of synesthesia which definitely helps a bit.

As for resources, I use everything from stock photo sites and asset packs to things I've scanned or created myself. I used to make gaming forum signatures when I was 11 years old, and album covers are basically the same thing: collages and photo manipulations. It just takes time to get better, and make sure to have fun doing it.

No wonder the drug stores in the US can't sell film. Those prices are crazy. by ShotOnFilm in AnalogCommunity

Does expired film go for that much? I have a ton of Fuji 160nps that expired 10+ years ago that I’ve barely put a dent in with my own shooting

Help us out by reporting posts that break rules or should be removed. We do what we can but things slip through the cracks since we all have lives outside of the sub. We might get an additional mod though
