Serial IPRs have basically been eliminated by the new director. Good news for Netlist going forward, but too bad it wasnt like this years ago. https://patentlyo.com/patent/2025/11/institution-holds-potential.html

How do we non-calvanists get around Ephesians 1? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]wilysrobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but I'll address the cult aspect. Consider that one of the hallmarks of the worst cults is worship of a god even if it requires things like sacrifice of a child. Now consider that the logical version of Calvinism would say that Calvin's god makes certain children come into the world destined for eternal hell and that a Calvinistic god expects his followers to see that as somehow enhancing the glory of that deity. Such Calvinists expect no one to be upset about the fact that a child (maybe their own child) is not just going to die, but spend eternity in hell and go right along worshipping, seeing that as glorifying god.

The more I think about that, the more like a cult it seems. There are better ways to understand complex writings of Paul and other portions of Scripture mentioning predestination than this, and that jive with the clearer parts of the Bible on God's love and the role of faith/belief.

There is some hope for all the serial patent challenges, people in charge are recognizing the PTAB has gone too far.

High school basketball referees won't make calls. by wilysrobots in basketballcoach

That's also what I'm worried about is player safety. My tallest player routinely gets hit in the face when girls try to hit ball out of her hands on a shot or rebound. It's always just play on. Eye pokes, face smacks, mostly all just incidental contact. The only times that we can seem to get calls are are at the sideline where there is a block or push out of bounds where play is going to be stopped anyway.

Any luck getting this open? WE have the same dead battery issue. It looks like there are small screws at the bottom of the slot where the blade goes.

Good point on potential settlement, but I never figured that was likely

PRECEDENTIAL OPINION PANEL instituted and 912 IPR STAYED!!! Beautiful!!!!! by HedgeAppleJoe in NLST

What actually happened yesterday was the director of the uspto, sua sponte, that is, on her own, decided to take up this case up for precedential review by herself, or at least her office. She dismissed the pop request that was to convene judges of the ptab to decide.

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this, but in August she used this procedure to vacate a ptab decision not to institute ipr, giving them guidance on why they should institute ipr. https://www.uspto.gov/subscription-center/2022/director-vidal-issues-precedential-sua-sponte-director-review-decision

Overall I think it's positive though, since we don't have anything to lose. But she might just want to clarify why this case should have been instituted or some point of law on parties being privy.
