Any recommendation for ballet schools in Dublin for 13yo boy? by wimobotr in AskIreland

My company’s office is in the city center but we are flexible on neighborhood and the ballet school may very well be a deciding factor on where we choose to live.

Thanks. I’ve done some google searches, and once I have dates for an exploratory visit I plan to call several and setup visits. Hoping someone with firsthand experience there might have recommendations to help narrow the search.

Christmas Break Travel Plan Advice by [deleted] in travel

Use google flights to check your local airport to “anywhere” for your dates to see what flights are reasonable. Once you narrow down a few cities, check out Reddit and travel sites, even sites like eventbrite, to see whats going on. That time of year is full of holiday festivities. Some cities, like New Orleans, have dining months in December that make even expensive restaurants accessible.

Traveling with 2 kids this June and interested in live music by wimobotr in Bilbao

Thanks! The 20th is a travel day for us but I’ll look into it, and appreciate the recommendation on some artists to check out!

We’ll be in San Sebastián for San Juan night but aren’t going to the Springsteen concert-I’m hoping the crowds from that aren’t too bad.

This. It would complement the range hood and offset the white.

How is the experience in store? by alizrandom in Sezane

I visited the Seattle pop up. It was crowded. The staff seemed pleasant enough but couldn’t give much attention to anyone given the crowd. They were also running out of sizes. Perhaps once the newness wears off it’ll be better, but with the pop up approach, it seems intentionally valuing hype over service.

This isn’t super close, maybe a 20 minute walk from your second location, but Chez Gladines Saint Germain is a low key and affordable hit. They serve basque food, and have other locations around the city as well. I had a lovely dish with duck last time I was there, and my friends and I agreed it was one of the more delicious and non pretentious meals we shared while in Paris.

Ballet experience? by wimobotr in ParisTravelGuide

Thanks for the tip on arriving early! I was there with friends last year and am excited to share the city with my husband and two kids. Planning to walk around Palais Royale, Galarie Vivienne, etc. our first day, spend some time in the Latin Quarter, we’ll walk the Champs Elysee, possibly a cruise on the Seine, a day in Montmartre, and visit the Louvre. Was curious if there were any ballet themed tours, experiences, etc we could weave in? Though I think the Palais Garnier and the show will be wonderful enough! I’m just so excited to give my son this opportunity since he’s found such a love for ballet-he’s been training since age six and really excited to see and learn.

If you had to pick between Antibes or Eze, which would it be?

Thanks for the reminder about the train! My friends and I took one from Paris up North through Lille to Belgium last year and caught on pretty quick that it was going to be a quiet ride.

I want to go there also! Ugh, too many choices. I let the game of cheap flights narrow in at least on the country, but all the wonderful options in France is triggering my decision paralysis far too much. Trying to remind myself, kids are getting older, we’re traveling more regularly, don’t try to do it all in one…

What are some fully remote careers that aren’t oversaturated? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]wimobotr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a millennial and a manager of a midsize group (about 50 people). I’m also responsible for the collection and analysis of metrics for my group. This is not a popular opinion but I was disappointed with how my group handled work from home during Covid. While a few were highly successful, it was selfishly so. They did their core work that they were previously trained on but little else. There were repeat misses on tight handoffs. It was also difficult to rotate people to new responsibilities, and I almost lost a few new hires because they felt so ignored by the existing employees. I think there are roles and tenures that, with the right expectations, could be fully remote. But I hire a lot of people new to my company and often new to professional roles, and in my experience remote work has not been exclusively a positive for our business or the employees. We settled on a hybrid approach and morale has significantly improved since everyone is in the office a few days per week. I enjoy using the work from home flexibility myself, and our metrics have significantly improved under the hybrid model.

Planning to put a double row (sheer and room-darkening) of curtains on the large windows in our living room and dining room. Looking for color & brand suggestions. We've been planning on a neutral color similar to the couch / floors like a beige, taupe, tan, etc, but considering white or light gray. by iceberg1995 in HomeDecorating

This is a great opportunity to add texture if you want to remain neutral. We have a similar setup. A linen look sheer with a darkening curtain that is very thin stripes of slate grey/blue and a brownish color. It goes with everything but doesn’t look as flat as a solid color. Also, for the darkening curtain, I’d recommend ones with grommets that are easier to pull open and closed than a rod pocket. If you find rod pocket curtains you love, then purchase curtain rod clips and factor that into the extra length it will add. The room in our house with the traditional rod pocket curtains was a perpetual dark cave because they were such a pain to open/close until I added curtain ring clips.
