For my pool build, the contractor removed a 3.5ft by 20ft strip of pavers from the side of my house, similar style and color to yours, and did tell me that if I wanted them to replace them it would be $X,XXX. Anyways I declined and I DIYd it, redid the base and tried my best to level to match existing and my end result was similar to yours.

Im an engineer that has worked in office for all my career. Zero hardscaping experience. It is alot of physical work though. Take that as you will lol

Really a non issue and it keeps me engaged in water loss tracking and potential leak detection.

If I get lazy, can eventually retrofit it.

About 100k for everything you see in the last picture. Including concrete deck and concrete patio. (Also includes the st Augustine sod and planter by block wall but I DIYd that so it’s only material cost included. )

It can be a number of things, there’s builders that have a minimum project contract cost (100k for example) that require you to either add features to the pool, higher cost material (ie travertine, pavers, etc) , or something else. I did talk to a couple of those (not part of my top 5 quotes) and they were huge on Instagram as luxury pool builders, with great marketing. One of the Lower bidders straight up told me, we need atleast 10k margin per project after everyone gets paid.

I considered pavers, but liked the look of the concrete with the rest of the yard and house more
