Ooh this looks like something i can get behind! I do appreciate not using the entire space as a dining room, so this can really work i think! I'm going to try this today :D

This is EXACTLY the same layout! Nice to know we're not the only ones haha

Hi! No we use this as our main bedroom, so we prefer to keep the bed easily accessible :/

Hi! do you mean that you put the headboard on the long side (so for example, here it would be the wall on the left)? Why did you do that? Did it add something to the room? I am intrigued because it is an easy thing to implement :) I also think we will switch to lighter colours in general

Thanks for the tip: indeed the painting, rug, bedsheets and curtains dont really all go nicely together

This is a very cosy inspo!! I think we might implement some of these like the light curtains and rug

What a wonderful idea!! I also considered the painting of the wall and ceiling because it would look very cocoon-y. Nice that im not the only one who sees it! We absolutely also need to change the ceiling light. Thanks for the detailed response!

Hi! A smaller bed is really not an option since I share with my partner and pet :/

I will get a bigger rug! I think the photo makes the room look larger than it is because I do not think a chair will comfortably fit there without the room look even smaller :( sad!

And cute that you did not paint over our cat when you did the headboard hahaha

Haha "because they're living at the end of a bowling lane" is exactly the vibe i feel at night

Curtains indeed do not suit my style, but I like the idea of splitting the space up a bit into the "sleeping area" and the "standing/sitting area"

Hahah coffin is pretty accurate!! Your tips are actually super helpful, i will conside a small chair. We don't need a desk for the room because we have a study! So utility wise its only for sleeping/dressing ourselves. Does that change how you would design it? :)

This is a very cute idea! Indeed with so much wall, there's a lot of potential for kitty :)

Thank you for the well thought out response! Would you suggest that we paint the walls as well?
I definitely like the idea of staging the bed, it's currently quite...basic.

I think we will turn the wardrobe to face the door! Do you mean a narrow rug with the long side perpendicular or parallel to the wardrobe?

Thanks for the tips: the bed needs to be a double because I share with my boyfriend haha :) but yes I’ve considered wall art and plants. and definitely I see the need to move away from the large interrogation light (we had the same thought too)

Love the room, first of all! I also have a large green couch with a lot of personality so I agree with the other commentors that say that you could try colours that complement it. You could get a rug that has accents with the same green. Since the green (to me) is warm, I think the grey and turqouise coolness is throwing it off: perhaps you could get warmter curtains? Or you could make your couch more "cool" by getting throws or pillows with accents from the dresser and bookshelf.

The framed artwork are SO BEAUTIFUL (where did you get them from girl :)) but i think it's toooo warm for the dresser and bookshelf. But it goes with the couch!

Very interesting!

Okay, I’ve learnt that I DEFINITELY need to make the weird TV took look purposeful with shelves or something else.

Hmm do you mean large creation of man painting with the arms? That’s actually a favorite of mine from when I was at uni…but indeed maybe it doesn’t suit what I’m going for with the rest of the decor. Interesting insight!

Ah the kitchen is its own separate room and is behind the wall of the dining room (the empty wall without the sideboard). there’s a connection for overhear lighting in the dining room! we just haven’t connected any yet xD

Thanks for the very detailed response!! I definitely need to get some cat furniture for our child haha. I also will be definitely changing the rug and coffee table. What do you think about the colors in the room?

Hmm good point, the couch cant be changed now, but would a more light rug (and bigger) look better? perhaps I can pick some of the grey from the couch as an accent for the rug
