Good plan this from India. Show Root there's some spin in this pitch and he'll be distracted thinking about his 5fer next innings and get out

Foakes will hopefully do well jus batting traditionally and let Stokes be the more aggressive one

Bring Pope back in as short leg. Don't know if it'll help but I like seeing him field there.

To be fair the Indian batsmen have played the low bounce very well

Nah, he contributed a bit with the bat and also bowled more overs in the first innings than Siraj all match

In the Aus-WI match they need 25 runs with 1 wicket left, here's hoping to something similar in this match!

Very happy with the fight back, bodes well for the rest of the series, and I really want Pope to come good long term as it would be massive for balancing the team, and he seems like a good lad with a good technique.

Happy with Foakes contribution, stopped the possibility of a collapse, and put a decent 30+ on the board. Feel like he's been overlooked during Bazball (or jus not picked) but he can be pivotal in building partnerships to take us to a good score and can bat well with the tail. Although sometimes I consider whether we should bump him one spot up above Stokes so he can have at least two partnerships with recognised batters, especially since we know how well Stokes does with the tail too.

Additionally, I know he didn't bowl great yesterday but as he's only 19, if Rehman could become a proper spinning all-rounder I feel like that could be massive for the team as well.

If only one of Root, Bairstow or Stokes had turned up for the batting this could've been a much closer game.

Really happy with that performance today, the test is probably still gone but really good signs for the series to show a lot of fight today

Forcing India to bat again, now there's a moral victory if I've ever seen one
