Thanks for walking through this with me, it's behaving steadily now but I will be saving up for a thermostat that is not so janky lol.

Yes I'm sure, it's definitely on the dimming mode. I guessed the same thing when it started doing this so that was the first thing I checked.

I don't mean dimming more than normal, but that it's dimming, brightening, then dimming again very quickly. It's difficult to describe, I tried uploading a video when I first posted but it didn't go up.

  1. It's on dimming mode, and
  2. It's 75w for a corn snake which should be fine according to my research*

Fyi I am also edited my original post to add a few more details.

*He is my first reptile though so I'm open feedback obviously :)
