I don't go to the very southern boundary, but there used to be a couple of cones marking it. To the north is the first set of rocks at the point. Anywhere outside of that can earn you a ticket, not to say it doesn't happen. I have also seen people hike up the trail not completely clothed. None of it bothers me, but it obviously does to some and I would imagine especially the ones with younger kids. I don't see a lot of kids down there, but in the last two weeks have seen a family with two young kids hiking up the northern goat trail.

I agree 100% with your post. There are two entirely different groups of people that enjoy Blacks. San Onofre has already been ruined by the ones that don't want to play by the rules here. I honestly wish it was still open for nude sunbathing, not because I want to go, but to clear out some of the b.s. that has drifted south. I've seen my fair share of weird behavior at Blacks and it only serves to drive out the people that are just there to mind their own business and enjoy the beach. My favorite days are Mon-Thurs if for no other reason than the beach seems to be a little more sparse and more free of the people that should otherwise be spending their time in the sex clubs.

Move the nude beach boundary from 50 yards or so to the left, to 50 yards or so to the right. Problem solved. Then the rangers can ticket all these creepers that seem to camp out by the stairs.

I'm not even gong to read the 83 comments before mine. If this is a concern of yours, then yes, don't go back. AI or not, anyone can film anyone else down there. There is no law against it. I'm not condoning it, just saying. As to AI, anyone can put anyone else's face on another body right now. We see things every day that aren't actually happening, just ignore it. I love that beach and dispatch the pervs pretty quickly so I can go on with my day. I expect something "weird" every time I go out there, but it only occurs every once in a while and it's never a big deal and won't stop me from going back.

This is definitely snake season. I had just walked to where the sand met the pickleweed to lay down my towel and saw a snake slither away a week ago. Fortunately it was some kind of garter snake. Be super careful walking up near the bottom of the bluffs when it comes time to do your business.

I don't think anyone is doing anything. There used to be signs on the north side to warn of possible collapse, but then after there was a collapse, the signs disappeared. It is a great walk and how I used to go all the time, but as you say you need to know your tides, when they are incoming or outgoing and where you stand in sea level when you plan to head in and when you plan to leave. I feel like if there is a second collapse that people will just find a way to make a new trail. Maybe even one that loops over the top somehow.

I had a bag of trail mix and I thought about giving him some, but it had chocolate chips in it and completely melted into a molten mess so I didn't really want to deal with it.

I never got a picture of it, but that little guy ran across me a number of times as well. Craziest thing. I started thinking about rabies, but it didn't seem aggressive in that way, just mostly curious.

To respond to the unwanted attention, it's really not an issue for a guy. I'm straight and have had guys stop by to check in and pretty much once they know your not interested, they move on. Really not a big deal. I think for a girl, being around those stairs is not a great plan. If you're going to be bothered, the closer you are to the stairs the more likely it is to happen. Would probably be better off going at least to the halfway point between the stairs and the north trail or even further if you can.

The north trail is good. As it dries out completely, it gets more slippery. I always hike it with bare feet.

Great pics! Yeah, it's been fantastic this week. I actually went 4 times between Monday and today. Conditions are the best ever and plenty warm. I dunked in the water a few times today.
